Just buy it! You have read the reviews...But until you buy, own and start using the EOS 7D as your main unit you will not understand what all the HYPE is about. The EOS 7D did not get the Awards, Accolades and Favor of myriads of World Renown Photographers without being a levels above the rest and classed in a standard almost to its own.
You can argue negatively about anything, say for instance some say the Sun is dangerous and can cause various forms of skin cancer and no one should be exposed unprotected to it. The fact of the matter is, without the Sun, life as we know it on Planet Earth would not exist. There are people on this planet who have never used sunscreen and are in the Sun everyday for prolonged periods of time and have never had skin issues. Life goes on.
What I'm trying to say is...There is no need to get into the technicalities of what this finely crafted Jewel can do, why, because there are more than enough reviews that have defined in persuasive detail the more than capable abilities of the EOS 7D...Just Buy It!

Working long hours I'm not lucky enough to use this camera as much as I would like but when I do nothing makes me happier. The only mistakes this 7D makes are the ones on the back side where the operator gets a little to anxious and rushes a shot. I was aprox. a hundred feet away from an outdoor concert at night using an L lens camera hand held, I was using only the lights directed at the band members and only the IS in the 7D camera since my lens didn't have one. Breathing out slowly as if firing a gun I squeezed the shutter button again and again, to my surprise the images were clear bright with very little noise. I would like to have another 7D to set them up with separate lenses.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation
the only thing i wish this camera had was some way of adjusting the audio in put something to adjust the stereo like the software in the canon 60d i think has sound adjustments other then that a great camera i do a lot of wildlife and landscape photography and have lots of cameras guess i am a camera geek photos are so crisp and clear with this attach my canon l Lens
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, can't see the lcd in daylight
Canon took some enhancements from there high in Professional cameras and packages it into the 7D. I have own a 7D over a year, And ask myself why I waited so long to decide to make this purchase.I have owned Canons SLRs in the past, it’s not my first rodeo, when you match this camera up with some L-Glass You have a package that blows away most of the other brands.A lot of my friends shoot with full frames can’t get over what the 7D produces compared to their higher price cameras. Buy the 7-D You won’t be disappointed This Camera is the REAL DEAL.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This is one of Canon's most advanced, feature-rich camera. Focus tracking is fast, the ergonomics of the controls is excellent, and the camera performs beautifully in low light, or high-speed sports photography. It's the first Canon to have a built in flash that can control external speedlites, making this camera one of the most versatile in the Canon lineup. I can't say enough great things about this Camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I've been a Canon user all my life and decided to buy the 7D as a second body based on many glowing reviews. There's always a few naysayers in the bunch so I ignored them and bought the camera anyhow. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when I opened the box and checked out so many cool new features that were included in this gorgeously made body. Then I started taking photos and the disappointment began. Even at low ISO speeds noise is a problem and even using a tripod I was unable to get sharp photos- every single shot came out "soft". I set up a supposedly lower quality 50D and a 7D under the same lighting conditions at the same exposures and both on tripods and the 50D absolutely crushed the 7D in every aspect. I struggled to love this camera and spent 14 days doing everything I could to try to justify it's purchase. I even read the manual from cover to cover to see if I was missing something but alas I wasn't. It was with great regret and disappointment that I packed the unit back up and returned it to the store for a complete refund. I'll continue using my 5 and 50D's and now I'm very hesitant to try another Canon body. I really want to upgrade my 50 but I guess I'll be waiting a while longer as it still delivers solid shots as a second/back up camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Superior build quality
I found this camera to be THE BEST camera on the market now. Can't imagine using anything else.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, superior hd footage
