Well done, Canon!

I bought my 7D about six months ago as a companion to my 5D. I wanted something with micro-adjust focus, fast reliable autofocus and a fast frame rate for sports. The 7D has turned out to be everything I expected. No problems at all with the camera.
My only frustration, and this applies to all my DSLRs, is that it is difficult to find lenses that focus accurately with each camera body. The current autofocus method is prone to all sorts of problems involving the way the lens and the camera body work together. You won't notice it if you are using smaller apertures like those in the consumer zoom lenses, but if you want to use prime lenses wide open it becomes a big issue. Sorry Canon, just my pet peeve!
Anyway, if you are looking for a great crop-sensor camera, you can't go wrong with the 7D!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD
I upgraded from a 50D and found the quality of the photos to be significantly better than those taken with the 50D. Initially, I found the auto-focus feature to be a somewhat difficult to use. However, after working with this feature for a short time, I found this feature to be one the the better new features on this camera compared to the 50D.
The controls and menu system are easy to navigate and use.
The 100% view finder is a great improvement over the view finder in the 50D.
Overall, a great camera - you won't regret owning it.

I have had this camera for about a year now. If you feel that you need to go on up to a higher priced Canon camera, I can't imagine why. Other than for the megapixels. 18 megapixels is plenty for me when I am printing a photo of 8 1/2x11. I know I can print larger but give me money for a bigger printer and I will be glad too. I can't find a thing wrong with this camera and I am a avid photographer. I use my camera for my art and teaching photography for kids. It's quick and ready for any situation. I have the battery pack and get over 1200 shots with and without the flash. It's a little heavy for the kids but did get a strap that is easier around the neck feel. If your a beginner photographer and going to an SLR, this may have too much bells and whistles but hey you wont be disappointed either. I'm not big on the video side of the camera and have used it a few times but being a photographer, Well, it's kind of like having a microwave in the car. I just can't seem to get excited about that side of the camera. Yea, glad it's there but not had a use for it yet. Live view has been a help since I have had two back surgeries but it does seem to use up the battery juice quicker. If I had one thing to add would have probably been a rotating view lcd. That is it. I love it and will recommend it!!!
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation
I have owned this camera now for about 5 months and it turned out to be a better camera than I thought. The performance has been excellent and picture quality exceptionally beautiful. The built is evidently strong and durable, the quick responsiveness and intuitive controls are just as fast to manipulate. The camera is entirely customizable and extremely flexible with each individual's needs. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with it, it has allowed me to achieve some pictures that I could never achieve with my previous cameras.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu
I have been photographing with digital cameras for about 18 years, with over 30+ years of photography experience. I have progressed with Canon DSLR's from the 10D, to 20D, to 30D, to the 7D. Prior to purchasing the 7D, I considered the 5D Mark II, but because of the difference in the frames per second, purchased the 7D. Last year I photographed an event with two different Canon DSLRs-30D and 7D with different lens (wide angle vs. zoom). When I compared the 30D images to the 7D images, the 7D images were dramatically sharper. I was so disappointed in the quality of the 30D images, 8 vs. 18 Meg pixels, I purchased a second Canon 7D. I continue to photograph a number of outdoor events and have been extremely satisfied with the performance of the 7D.
I read a number of the attached reviews and some of the criticisms are valid, such as the Audio Control & Balance, and the lack of 'tracking' in Video Mode. Overall the 7D is an excellent camera for the advanced and professional photographer.
Readers should be aware that there is a slight difference between the 10D-50D, and I assume the 60D, control functions and the 7D. However, I adapted to the slight cahnges quickly.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Within the past year I have gone from a Canon T2I to a Canon 60D and now to the Canon 7D. I have been a Canon loyal customer for over 30 years and have had numerous camera from film to digital SLR's. Having used the 7D for the past month I can easily state that it is without a doubt the best camera I have ever used. The quality of build is exceptional and the picture and video results are spectacular. I am still thankful that I made the decistion 30 years ago to go with Canon. It has been a wonderful relationship.
