This is a wide-screen monitor, measuring 31 inches wide and 13 inches high. It took me a short while to get used to it, but I've grown to appreciate all the extra screen space, even for everyday computing tasks. The DisplayWidget software offers pretty much limitless configuration options, and it would likely take six months to try them all.
Setup was quick with the base attaching to the post with two thumbscrews and the post attaching to the back of the monitor with the four provided Phillips-head screws. Asus even provides little plastic caps to put over the screw heads once they're tightened. This gives the back of the monitor a clean look but who looks at the back of a monitor?
I do like all the connectivity options, which include two HDMI ports and two DisplayPort ports. One cable of each type is included in the box along with the power cable and something else much appreciated, a USB-3 cable to connect a USB-3 port on your computer to a dedicated USB port on the back of the monitor. This activates two USB-3 ports on the back of the monitor. They're not the easiest to get at regularly, but they're a great place to plug in something that you might want right there on your desktop all the time, like a camera or a pair of USB speakers.
Overall, I definitely recommend this monitor for any purpose.

It’s more like 4.5. It’s almost perfect. I would say if you can’t afford an oiled this is the one. It’s a high refresh rate vga panel which is very rare for 250hz which is the overclocked setting. It should have massive tearing but it doesn’t. It’s a truely heavy tuf case. All other monitored I have bought the standes where kind of flimsy. Not this one.
