Was not to sure about spending the extra money on the lense at the time, however, have not been able to put it down, the 2.8 can pull a great photo without a flash in candle light. Solid build with quality... love the double IS, fantastic choice between the 2 IS for horizontal and vertical panning, we photograph a lot of dog performance shows and now could and would not be without it! Quiet, quick performance on AF and excellent easy grip on MF... Great Job Canon!!
Pros: Super-sharp images, Superior build quality, Fast auto-focus

This glass *finds* light where there doesn't seem to be any! I use it on a 50D. I was skeptical until I tried it at my friendly mega-photo-retailer. I zoomed it to 200, aimed it at the black ceiling in AV / 2.8 and WOW.
Pros: this lens is a light-shark
Cons: weighty but worth it

Without doubt the best 70-200 on the market. Generally this lens is great in all conditions. The glass is superior to any other brand, i have tried a number of others and none can match. The build quality is unsurpassed, it feels like a pro lens and shoots like one.
Pros: Super-sharp images, Superior build quality, Fast auto-focus
Cons: having is on can soften images

This lens is a little soft at 200mm when shooting wide open. I also see a good amount of chromatic aberration at that 200mm. I've used it to shoot an indoor dance recital on a 50D body. It gave me good range, especially with the crop factor of the 50D. It is solid and fast focusing. IS was great. This should be a fabulous lens outside. Thinking that the 135mm f/2 may be the more cost-effective solution for indoor dance recitals.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality
Cons: Semi-sharp images, chromatic aberration

I bought this lens early 2017. I love this lens It has worked great in Weddings, Wildlife shots. While some may say it is to heavy to use without a Tripod or to carry around. Well I had no issue carrying it around through the forest, across streams etc all day. Beautiful pictures come from this lens.
