The new Crew Classic design

The new Crew Classic design is now 14" wide verses 15" wide (see pix) 4 years ago. I travel overseas carry-on no matter how long the trip. This design adjustment affects me as it is 7% less packing space, and I can't fit my 14W shoes into it widthwise as with the old carry on. This adversely affects my packing strategy.
