I replaced a TravelPro actual

I replaced a TravelPro actual "crew" heavy-duty rollaboard which finally died after 15 years of frequent use and weighed 10 pounds. This "retail" version version is lighter (about 7 pounds in 22" version), is available in colors other than black, and is nicely organized. Quality is good, wheels are great, and it's thoughtfully designed (I like the extra exterior slot into which you empty your pockets before going through TSA).
I returned the 22" spinner version of this bag which was disappointingly small. The pictures of that bag lead you to think that TravelPro has cleverly made space between the wheels usable for packing, when in fact that space is used by a handle, with the result that it has no more capacity than any other 22" spinner. Thank you TravelPro for still making a 2-wheel bag. With this bag, I can do most trips (even weeks) without checking any luggage.
Capacity is about the same as the old Crew bag when not expanded. It's considerably less capacity when expanded, because the expansion on this new bag tapers from bottom to top to make it less tippy (which does work actually). This bag will be best for someone who truly mainly carries it on, and who uses other bags when needing to check. If you need absolute maximum capacity and durability in a hybrid carryon/checkable and don't mind the weight, the real "crew" bags are still available at sites like mypilotstore.

Travelprobis without question the best luggage for the serious traveler. On my third crew series and it is awesome. I would make one recommendation. The small front pocket is not situated well. Because it is behind the large front pocket…the opening it very small and hard to get things in and out of. The old design with the small pocket in front was better…much more accessible and usable. I really can’t use the small pocket anymore.
Thank you for continuing to make a two wheel roller bag! It is all I use!!!

Not the same quality

I’ve had the same version of the Travelpro Crew Classic for years and it was time to replace it do to wear and tear.
Unfortunately, I was ver disappointed as the quality is nowhere near what it once was.
The internal dimensions were noticeably smaller and several of the components were just not up to par on the quality I’m accustomed to.
I ended up returning it as I’m a business traveler and just didn’t have a high level of confidence that it would last.
