The printer arrived with a multiple of internal errors including smearing of toner across pages. It also continued to report that tray 1 (the tray on the side of the printer) was out of paper, and the tray was not selected in the application I was using. When I was trying to run envelopes, it would leave this huge streak of black toner on the back of the envelope, as well as print the return address on the envelope crooked. Overall it was just a disastrous experience. HP took the printer back, as they determined the printer to be defective, and the company ended up buying a 5800f. Essentially the same printer with a few more features. I can see why they are removing this printer from their printer line up - which is what a technical engineer communicated with me when I explained all of the things that were going wrong with the device. If you can still order them, I would STRONGLY recommend you choose the 5800f model. We have had no problems with this printer at all. ranted we've only made about 2000 impressions on letterhead, but all are free from errors and toner smearing.
One of the main purposes we purchased this is to have scanning abilities. Unfortunately this printer no long has the scan to computer feature which is extremely disappointing.
