Worth the money - I would purchase again because it has been keeping my dell laptop cooler / before getting the chill mat my laptop would seem to be on the verge of overheating - it would get hot then the laptop fan would kick on but would not seem to reduce the temperature enough - which caused the laptop fan to run constantly which is more annoying than the chil mat fans.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the job, but is it necessary?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm using this mat with my 16in MacBook Pro. The fans work reliably and not too loudly, but there are a few caveats:
1. This mat only takes in power from a provided usb cable, but it doesn't include a USB to USB-C adapter or wall adapter. The new MacBooks only have USB-C ports, so you'll need to get a hub or adapter to convert from the MacBook's USB-C ports.
2. As long as the Chill Mat is connected to my computer, the fans will run. Even when the computer is in sleep mode. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have an on/off switch.
3. I mainly wanted this to use in my lap when wearing shorts so I would not burn my legs. The instructions tell you to always place the mat and computer on a table. You *can* use it on your lap but you need to be careful not to let your computer slide off of it. The two rubber nubs that are supposed to keep the computer from sliding around don't even make contact with the underside of my MacBook.
4. I use my computer to compile software and spin up Docker Containers. This causes the CPU to heat up, triggering the MacBook's built-in fans to spin at high speed. Although this is common, I have never had any performance issues and always expected that the built-in fans would compensate automatically. This leads me to question whether a fan-powered chill mat is necessary at all.
Summary: It helps keep your computer cool by blowing air onto the underside of your laptop/notebook computer. Computers without a standard USB connection will require an adapter to power the fans.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 16 " Dual Fan Chill Mat works so good. I am usually on my computer for hours at a time and seriously worried it will over heat. But, as I have been using the Chill Mat I have seen how great the fans work and I am not worried about it anymore. My laptop stays cool and I can work with no worries. Simple to attach the cord (that comes with it) to each the computer and the cool mat.

I just bought the chill mat tonight...severely overpaid at Wal-Mart, but due to the semi-permanent burn mark on my thigh, I didn't have time to wait for shipping. Anyway, I actually came to the site to troubleshoot it because I wasn't hearing the fan. Turns out is just THAT quiet! My laptop fan drowns it out! Comfy on my lap without the pesky sensation of burning flesh, so at this point I'm a fan!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Texas and my desk sits in front of a window (lucky me!). However, the afternoon sun shines through that window so it gets pretty hot. I like the idea of this fan helping to keep both my laptop and myself cooler. However, the vent holes are only on the top so it does keep the laptop cool but no air blows out towards me at all. Also, because the height is almost 2 inches tall, it raises my laptop up enough that my wrists rest on the edge of the laptop when I type which becomes uncomfortable rather quickly. I will continue looking for a different cooling option.

Quality-a 3 since it doesn't have a low/high power switch, which the manual says it does. It does cool my laptop, so it's nice in that sense. I like having it USB powered. I don't really like the conflicting names-barcode (which I went by) says PA248U5, but next to the warranty page in the manual, it says AWE19US. That makes no sense. I just put the review here since it says PA248U5 on the Chill Mat itself.
Features-a 3 since they forgot the low/high power switch, but it does what it claims (something most products can't say). It also doesn't need an AC adapter.
Style-nice and simple. I don't like products that seem to yell "LOOK AT ME" or "my laptop's fans suck".
Durability-I just started using it, so I can't rate that.

This is a great Product, The USB powered fan is awesome it is not the most durable yet, the fan cools my Dell laptop witch is all you need it for, it has a great style, is easy to use all you need to do is plug it into your USB hub and your good it has worked great for me I love it but it is a little over priced but I love it
Pros: good style, easy to use, cools your laptop easly
Cons: overpriced
