I purchased two at the same time: One worked great when first purchased. One light to show fully charged would never come on but it could go for a month without needing to charge it so it wasn't a concern. It was used four times over a year and a half, otherwise it was kept in a drawer. It was taken out to be used and it is bulging on both sides, similar to pictures already posted here. The second one was used maybe 10 times over the same time period and kept on the floor under the bed, that one has no issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well I haven't used it yet, only charged it, it's pretty heavy though. Hoping for the best!

It charges everything else, but my iPhone and my iPhone takes charge from a regular block and charger
