This container was a replacement for my old container, which had been dropped and had, naturally, cracked near the blade. I love my very useful Vitamix enough to pay the amount to replace the container. The tamper, which comes with the container, is the reason that I would not go with another brand of blender. No other blender has this necessary tool, that I have found.

The ~10+ year old container cracked when we handled it a bit too roughly (They are pretty tough, so we forget that is has it limits!). Anyway, the new container is so beautifully clear and new, it is hard to use it! The wear on the old container just shows how much we use the Vitamix....everyday.
