I already had a container but the top was a little broken and it did not have a tamper - it was from a friend. I waited a couple years before making this purchase, which is silly. This is a fantastic product. Having a tamper is great. I have 0 complaints and am very satisfied. Stop thinking about it and just buy it.

I use my mixer to make protein smoothies every morning before my workout. WISH you had a way to clean it as the veggie buildup on the container is already building up. I clean with hot water on high like I was instructed and still about 2 weeks in - yuk

I bought my first Vitamix about 8 years ago and LOVE it!! I use it every day. I recently purchased a new one- we put the old one in our motor home-so we are never without one :-) I use my spare container sometimes while cooking, I can have a couple things going at once! I prefer the classic size-maybe because my original came with that size, glad I bought it.
