We've had a Vitamix for years now and we love it. The blade in original canister stopped sprinning. I contacted Vitamix and they issued me a new one. Unfortunately, my son dropped the new one. We had to order another replacement. Vitamix gave us a discount. I was so impressed.

I've owned a vitamix blender for about 9 years now. Recently we had to buy a new container because the old one had a crack in it and was leaking. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the new container. The lid doesn't fit right. It takes extreme effort to get it on and seems to be made of a much cheaper and 'plastic-y' material. The plunger is already very marked up after only a few uses. The plunger is also made with a MUCH different/cheaper material than our original one.
A couple of years ago we bought a second blender, choosing a more sleek, lower profile and more modern looking model in general. Overall, we've been unhappy with the performance of the 2nd blender compared to our first one (our first is a very basic model, the Total Nutrition Centre). The newest blender looks great, but makes strange rattle noises and doesn't blend nearly as well as our first blender. It's clear to me that Vitamix is cutting corners in their product line unfortunately.
I get that consumer goods and services cost more over time. I'm disappointed to say the least, that Vitamix has obviously decided to use cheaper and lower quality components in order to (I'm assuming) combat charging higher prices. Long lasting quality is what attracted me to Vitamix initially and is what has kept me as a customer for many years. A quality product with exceptional performance is what we've experienced with our original blender. Unfortunately, recent purchases have not met the same standards. If long lasting quality is no longer a priority for Vitamix, I will not be buying more product.
