I bought my original in 2013. The motor is still running great! We use ours daily for smoothies, sauces, and grinding oat flour. Follow the directions and hand wash. We would put our container in the dishwasher sometimes and I know it deteriorated the plastic over time. We just updated our container and I’m so happy. Love our vitamix!

My old container after daily use for years my old containers bolt at bottom lost its edge (definitely get my moneys worth out of my Vitamix I will never be without one or anything other than). So I was happy Vitamix sold replacement parts even more so that they kept this part the same as my Vitamix was older. I had something like this happen to my cuisinart and replacement parts were not available had to by a new one which was disappointing (was small plastic plunger but that wouldn’t work wout it in place ). Anyways it’s great quality you’d expect from Vitamix.
