Very pleased with our replacement container. We made smoothies nearly every day with the original one and it lasted almost forever. The Vitamix products are superior. So glad we watched a demo at the TX State Fair about 15 years ago and purchased one. Simply the best!

This is an amazing product. I received an old unit with a very worn out pitcher from someone who upgraded. I was worried I was not going to get a part that fit something that old, but I called the 800 number and they helped me and Ta-Da! I'm in love and used it daily.

4 year old jar cracked!

First, let me say that I have owned a series 5000 Vitamix since 2005, and I consider the Vitamix the best blender. At least for the engine.
In March 2019, I replaced the original container, since after 14 years of usage it looked pretty old. After using the 'new' container for 4 years, and an average of 3 to 4 times a week, this morning I wanted to make an iced coffee. I added cold brew, a handful of ice, and a scoop of ice cream to the container, and turned the engine on low as usual. As I was increasing the blade speed, the container suddenly cracked sending liquid all over the kitchen. Luckily I jumped back, as a sharp-edge 2-inch plastic piece flew toward me. I am adding photos for better understanding.
I cannot come up with an explanation, other than perhaps a small crack that I had not noticed? I have always taken good care of my Vitamix or else I wouldn't still have one that was purchased in 2005, and I have never washed my container in a dishwasher. What type of plastic quality are the recent containers made of? This was incredibly disappointing.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. While the containers are made of a sturdy BPA-free Tritan, they can become damaged under certain circumstances. We also recommend avoiding dropping the container, blending any kind of inedible item (including stone fruit pits), and breaking up any large chunks of frozen products that are larger than 2-3 inches in diameter, as these can crack the container if hit by the blades at the wrong angle. Blades needed replacing after 100 uses

I’ve had my vitamin for almost 10 years, but in that time I’ve used it less than 100 times. I took it out of the box after owning it for almost 6 years. I started making smoothies, but after less that 100 uses it started making this awful crunching sound. Disappointed in the quality.
