This dry container that fits on the new Vitamix machine does not do nearly as well at grinding my flour as the old did. The old flour was fine and fluffy. The new ground flour is course and dense.
The actual blend variance of fine to rough blend is not as varied a range as I would use. And if I want to blend up a bag of grains to store prepared to use as needed in my baking day, this is not possible as it heats up so high. So the blending of a bag of grain is slow. No more than two cups at a time. With waiting for cooling after two blends. As well the machine menu does not match the guide suggestion in the publication with instructions & recipes. It works enough, but I am not impressed.
The 48-ounce Dry Grains Container is a very useful addition that greatly enhances my experience with using Vitamix for cooking fresh whole food. One of the very practical future if it is that it grinds even small amount of grains/coffee/nuts/herbs/beans/lentils etc. So far, I used it extensively for grinding dehydrated organic herbs from my garden and making chickpeas and lentils flour in small batches for immediate use in the kitchen. Works great!
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Easy to use, Versatility, Recipe Enhancement, Product features, Power
We grind all our wheat for bread, this made everything much easier and healthier. The size is just right and it is quiet sturdy for our wheat grinding needs.
I do all my baking from scratch using various types of grain, so this item is a helpful tool in an effort to avoid all the additives usually found in ready prepared baked goods.
