I purchase the X5 because of the function that this blender does, a big plus to Vitamix for not designing different attachments. This X5 is light weigh so it easy to move from location to another. I gave it 4 star because of this flaw which is important. Dailing in the different setting is not easy. The function dial needs more work, for example if you want grind your spices I had to keep turning the dial till it lands on the spice Icon because it would skipping two or three icon even when turning slow, you can feel it click but just will not move one icon at time.
I contact Vitamix they didn't have a solution. I was told to try turning the opposite direction that work for awhile but restarted the skipping. I was told that some other customer was having the same issues. They did say I can returning, however they are not sure if the other one will correct this issues. I hope that Vitamix does something to correct this. Just like the Ascent 5 that I gave my daughter This is a excellent blender. I have use the grinder and it does a beautiful spice mix, I use the receipt from the book.

I am very satisfied with my recent purchase of the vitamix Ascent X5. My previous Vitamix died. It lasted over eight years. The improvements in the next generation is evident. I like the menu options and detection of the canister. Much easier to clean.

Perfect for smoothies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Ascent X5 to try out.
I already have an older Vitamix that I enjoy using however it’s not as nice as this new model. The base and the blending container store separately and don’t take up too much room. Everything was neatly/safely packaged for shipping and was easily unpacked.
This unit is digital and I love the preset options. The smoothie setting blends everything perfectly. Starts slow and gradually speeds up automatically at a preset time. I mainly use my vitamix for smoothies.
The X5 has programs for nut butter, frappe, frozen cocktails, dips and spreads, non dairy milk, smoothie bowl and spice grinding. Haven’t used all of them yet but the nut butter and non dairy milk are great. Love that it is a fool proof setting and I don’t have to adjust the speed and time on my own. The lid snaps on securely unlike on my old model. The new blending container is a perfect 6 cup capacity. I find that size much better for smoothies than my old 8 cup. Cleaning it is a breeze.
The machine is LOUD on the higher settings but that is something I am used to. This blender is extremely powerful. Over all I love this new model. It’s easy to use. The pre programmed settings are super helpful and it’s beautiful.

I am enjoying the X5 blender. It does so many awesome things including heating your soup. This is by far the best blender that I have ever owned and I like the presets because it takes the guesswork out of getting the perfect blend. It has a very powerful motor to get the job done.

Bought this to replace a Ninja because it wasn’t processing good enough. We are whole food plant based so I use the blender alot. This Vitamix has been an excellent addition to my small appliance stash!!
It grind grains to a perfect powder, mixes up all flavors of nice cream, makes nut butters, sauces & guacamole.
I can make creamy soups right in the Vitamix- it even heats it up!! These are just a few things I use it for!
And it cleans itself!!!! I can’t say enough great things about this product! No negatives.

The look of this machine is sleek and modern. The icons are a bit small for older eyes, so I have to look at the manual to see what they are for. I don't use all of the options that it shows, but I do use the smoothie, peanut butter, cleaning, and a couple of others regularly. I am finding that I don't really care for the auto programmed times so much. I got to know my other Vita Mix and how to use it down to a science. I do like that the tamper can sit at the side of the machine. That makes it easy to get to for making blended items. I appreciate having the extended warranty. I take excellent care of all of my appliances and this one is no exception. I figure that is another reason they last so long. I have passed down to my daughter 2 of my former Vitamix's. They are wonderful machines!
