Such a great monitor, if only it works...

The monitor is great, the 3D is great, but there are some issues. Mainly software. Which is a good thing because that can be fixed and made better in updates.
Everything relies on their software the "Odyssey 3D Hub". The hub is pretty cool, but very limited (hopefully only at the moment of writing this). The Odyssey 3D Hub has a limited amount of supported games that it can run in 3D, which is fairly expected for the highest quality 3D gaming experience. But the issue is that it's a 3D monitor first and foremost. Running ANYTHING in 3D should be second nature and very easy to do, except the software is just so lacking in features and very restrictive!
The biggest issue is this ridiculous BUG! The 2D to 3D conversion doesn't properly display, it leaves a black bar at the bottom of the screen every time! Making it completely unusable!
Another issue is that the Odyssey 3D Hub needs your app to be in Full Screen and only Full Screen before it can convert it into 3D.
(You have to resort to use 3rd party apps that can convert SBS and other 3D formats like red/blue into glasses free 3D. Which can convert individual programs you tell it to convert, windowed AND full screened apps supported, as well as convert the entire monitor from SBS etc into 3D, and a "looking glass" where its a moveable resizable 3D window that you can drag anything into the looking glass it make it 3D. All except normal 2D images converted into 3D which currently I only know of the Odyssey 3D Hub to be able to do that, which it fails at doing, tragically.)

But running supported games launched directly from the Odyssey 3D Hub, while it's extremely limited, does work very well as intended.
A shame because it has the potential to convert ANYTHING into 3D with the click of a button, which does work pretty well from what I can see with the top part of the screen that isn't glitched out from the conversion process.

TLDR: The monitor hardware itself is great but it's software it hot garbage! right now, and you need to rely on 3rd party software to be able to do what Samsung advertises in the first place.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 3D function really works and it is amazing!

Its a really good gaming monitor in the price category of more pro monitors but lacking some pro functionality.
The 3D function really works and it is amazing! The number of games playable in 3D is growing. The greatest strength not marketed properly is the 3D video! It looks fabulous, though could be more flexible in recognizing different 3D formats - it can only recognize half side-by-side...
It can do HDR in 2D but in 3D it does only a fake HDR (SDR with increase brightness) which still looks great, but without HDR color space. Looks like HLG played on PQ monitor.
The main function that it is lacking is different color space support (should be standard in this price category) and more versatile 3D recognition.
Still worth the money! The 3D is truly amazing!

Great colors and brightness. However..

Set up for the monitor is quick and easy. The silver stand and borders on the monitor look fantastic in person. Upon initial boot up, I noticed how bright the panel got which was great since my room is flooded by sunlight. I installed the latest firmware and began calibrating colors and brightness to suit my needs. Colors are lovely and vivid, no issue on brightness levels, very little light bleed in the corners of my panel which is a huge plus for dark scenes in games/movies. As a standard 4k monitor, I feel this is a near perfect IPS panel with amazing color accuracy and crisp resolution. Gaming at 165hz feels buttery smooth as well. My one issue with this monitor is when I utilize the 3D. The 3D hasn't functioned correctly since getting this monitor. When I try to play supported games in 3D, I get a slight double image no matter which settings I use on the monitor. The 3D works slightly better when converting video playback to 3D but, I still get the slightest double image no matter the viewing angle or settings. Not sure if it's an issue with the panel or the tracking cameras but, the 3D hasn't functioned near perfect as some other reviews reported. That said, I would still highly recommend this monitor for it's excellent IPS panel.

I bought this monitor, and let me say, it's pretty, really pretty. But the speakers didn't work for me, and the camera was only in black and white.
The problem with the speakers apparently was something to do with my computer, but Samsung was unable help me figure it out.
The camera couldn't be fixed, so they gave me a refund because the monitor is so popular they didn't have another to send me :'(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing technology! The colors are vibrant, and the picture is very crisp. Low input lag, as one would expect from a gaming-focused monitor. The bezel is small and the monitor has a clean, professional exterior. The only drawback is the small number of compatible games (so far), but this seems to be improving day-by-day.

The monitor works great for 3-D. I was very happy when I got it. I’m a 3-D enthusiast and I love VR as well so this was a nice addition to my gaming set up, the colors look amazing and it was easy to install the Samsung hub
