I bought this humidifier to control high humidity in my basement. It’s quite effective and efficient. I used both tank and pump and it’s been working great so far. Bring down the humidity very fast.
Quiet and efficient. The machine puts out very little heat, which is great in Florida. We purchased this to help reduce the humidity in the addition of our home that we have to supplement the central air with a portable a/c unit. Easy to set. Easy to empty the water receptacle. Great for a space under 1000 sq ft, but could work for a bigger area (our space isn’t bigger than that!)
This unit changed the entire atmosphere in my 595 square foot basement keeping humidity percentage consistently between 40 - 45. It’s also benefit the air throughout the entire home. We’re in the middle of all the August 2026 Indiana floods so it’s processing an enormously amount of moisture right now and performing spectacularly!
I would give the operation 5 stars and the water tank 2 stars.
The operation and function is great and the unit is very well made.
My complaint is the water tank. The tank is sturdy but you cannot adjust the water level and the setting is so close to the top so the full tank is very heavy and can spill easy. You need to support the tank from the bottom because I fear the handle would eventually give out due to the weight of a full tank. It is also cumbersome to clean the inside of the tank.
If Wakar would lower the water level indicator for auto shut off it would be a huge improvement and easier to work with. I try to check it a couple times per day so I can empty the tank before it is full.
I recently bought this, and owned the cth models before this one, and learned for my environment the chwa was a better option in terms of efficiency price and efficacy for my enviroment, I use these in my bed room and throughout the home and I quickly recognized waykar as one of the better brands for my uses
It seems to work fine but the reservoir is small and requires frequent emptying in comparison to my old one. It doesn't do as good a job for the space it's used in. It's not noise and seem to work just doesn't do the job my old one did. Both were rated the same.
I purchased this for an Atlanta basement that is constantly humid in the summer. We've had other dehumidifiers but they've been loud and had to either gravity drain or empty the bucket every day. This unit, with the pump, is great. It runs fairly quiet, and has an auto setting where it will maintain humidity based on temperature so it only runs when it needs to, and the pump makes sure I don't have to worry about a full bucket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our Waykar 150 pint unit in May of this year (2026) to replace our commercial grade Santa Fe Dehumidifier, which we had over 10 years. Our new Waykar kept our basement room’s humidity down just as good as our prior unit did. In just under 3 months time however, our new Waykar unit stopped dehumidifying our room. A code, “E3” appeared, which indicates a refrigerant leak. We contacted Waykar and will await our replacement unit. We are hoping this was just a fluke and we will have much better luck with the replacement unit’s longevity.
