Excellent Blender!

This is a great blender for its category. I do wish it was a little quieter but it blends ice really well. It also chops fruits and vegetables very efficiently. It is easy to use, and I love the multiple attachments. I also like that it comes apart really easily which makes cleaning it a breeze. I gave it 4 stars overall because it is a very good appliance that I wish was a little more refined in terms of noise control. Overall great product!

Powerful motor and sleek design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this blender daily for about a week now. When I first unpackaged the product, I thought it was sleek with a retro vibe. I was very pleased with the glass jar. All blender parts can be put in the dishwasher. However, the (separate) manual for the food processor is lacking and from what I gather, the food processor parts are hand wash only. The food processor jar is extremely thin, light weight clear plastic. I do not expect the food processor jar to hold up long term. It’s too bad that they didn’t use glass or a thicker plastic for the food processor attachment.
When using the food processor, the handle keeps rotating. I find it odd that the handle does not lock into place. I’ve consulted the manual several times but I don’t see where this is addressed. Also, the base of the food processor twists on and off easily. I had to be very careful not to make a mess when picking it up from the blender so that the base wouldn’t become detached and create a mess. I wish that the base had a better locking mechanism.
The “Off” button also doubles as a pulse button. There are two speed settings, low and high, which can be used in conjunction with 7 speed settings. The box states that there are 16 speed settings but they are counting “Off” as a speed and “Ice crush” twice. Really there are only 14 speed settings.
The motor is surprisingly powerful. I had no problems crushing ice, dicing produce, or making hummus and smoothies.
In conclusion, The Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper is a convenient, easy to use multifunction appliance. I like the prospect of the Food Processor attachment but I feel that it’s not durable enough to hold up long term and that there are several design flaws. However, the blender attachment and the motor should last for years to come. I received the Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper in exchange for my honest review.

All the blender I need

This Oster blender doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some other models, but, at the end of the day, it's a very good value. The blender blade and glass jar look and feel like solid, high quality pieces, which makes it easy to overlook a slightly cheaper-looking base with buttons that are a little clumsy. Ultimately, the blender gets the job done, and at a very reasonable price. It's all the blender I could need. The unit cleans easily, and has become a welcome addition to my kitchen. I'm sure I'll use it often for fruit smoothies and protein shakes. (I received this product for free to try.)

This is a great blender. It looks stylish. It is easy to use and easy to assembly and disassemble for cleaning. It crushes ice wonderfully! Really love this blender. I received this blender to test.

Outstanding - Surpassed My Expectations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I rarely write reviews, and for me to make the effort to do so speaks volumes about this blender/food processor combination. It has surpassed my expectations in several ways. First, the engine is powerful enough to liquefy fruits and vegetables for my morning smoothies. Second, it actually chops ice, so I can enjoy crushed ice whenever I want. Third, customer service on this product is amazing. I can't say enough good things about this blender/food processor combo. The base is lightweight which is a plus, and after having purchased appliance at both ends of the spectrum, I have to say this is the best I've had thus far.

Best Blender Ever!

I bought this blender about 8 months ago and use it primarily to make protein shakes and smoothies. Other blenders I've had in the past would not blend thick fruit smoothies because the mixture would develop air pockets. I'd have to stop and shake the blender bottle to get the air out to continue. This model is great! Even with thick fruit smoothies and protein it blends them all (even the thick ones) without creating air pockets! It is obvious that Oster engineers have made some kind of changes that makes my smoothie making experience quicker and easier. Thank you!

Do not buy if you want a food processor

We have an oster blender that was given to us as a wedding present nearly 50 years ago and the motor is still working like a champ. We replaced the jar years ago when the glass jar was accidentally broken, so we purchased this model just for the food processor attachment thinking that the quality would be similar.
Big mistake. The food processor replacement lasted only 6 months before the drive spindle bound up and one of the plastic ears on the lid broke. In short, I would put it in the category of junk quality. When new, it does work as designed and does a fine job, but the way that the drive shaft is designed, it cannot remain clear of liquids and gradually stiffens up and becomes useless.
On the good side, Oster stands behind the product and shipped me a new one. But I don't think that Oster will continue to do that after the 1 year warranty period.
So the blender part is a great buy, but the food processor is a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
