Pretty good blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received this blender I was impressed with the durable glass jar. The base nice and durable as well.The blender was great with good power and effectiveness except for ice. The ice crushing ability was not impressive however. While the food processor included is nice, it was not as durable as the glass jar. Disclaimer: I did receive this blender to try out for free.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worked three times

I bought this blend/food chopper combo and was excited to use it. I loved the food chopper much more than my smaller older one that I gave the old one away to a friend. Well, I used it twice since then and it doesn't work. The lid on the food chopper will not close. The metal rods that touch when the lid is closed are stuck or something. It won't close or even come close to locking in place. I bought it more than the 14 days to return to so it's worthless now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Didn't hold up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this item 6 months ago. Happy with item until I noticed a crack in the plastic food processor jar. Disappointed with the price to replace just the one item. Blender works great just wish the plastic jar of the food processor would have held up longer.

Not so durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I dont know how long is this product supposed to last but less than 2 years with it, and today it started smelling like something was burning, i only used it like once a week because i have one of those personal blenders, it makes a super loud noise since i bought it and i got slower over time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions say that all but the motor unit are dishwasher safe. However, the food chopper warped the first time I washed it.

Gets the job done!

I’ve used this blender daily for about a week now. When I first unpackaged the product, I thought it was sleek with a retro vibe. I was very pleased with the glass jar. All blender parts can be put in the dishwasher. However, the (separate) manual for the food processor is lacking and from what I gather, the food processor parts are hand wash only. The food processor jar is extremely thin, light weight clear plastic. I do not expect the food processor jar to hold up long term. It’s too bad that they didn’t use glass or a thicker plastic for the food processor attachment. When using the food processor, the handle keeps rotating. I find it odd that the handle does not lock into place. I’ve consulted the manual several times but I don’t see where this is addressed. Also, the base of the food processor twists on and off easily. I had to be very careful not to make a mess when picking it up from the blender so that the base wouldn’t become detached and create a mess. I wish that the base had a better locking mechanism. The “Off” button also doubles as a pulse button. There are two speed settings, low and high, which can be used in conjunction with 7 speed settings. The box states that there are 16 speed settings but they are counting “Off” as a speed and “Ice crush” twice. Really there are only 14 speed settings. The motor is surprisingly powerful. I had no problems crushing ice, dicing produce, or making hummus and smoothies. In conclusion, The Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper is a convenient, easy to use multifunction appliance. I like the prospect of the Food Processor attachment but I feel that it’s not durable enough to hold up long term and that there are several design flaws. However, the blender attachment and the motor should last for years to come. I received the Oster Precise Blend Blender Plus Food Chopper in exchange for my honest review.

Decent blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving this blender I was impressed with the sturdy feeling of the glass jar itself. The base was not as impressive, it feels much less durable. In my experience the blender was good at making smoothies as long as they didn't include ice. When I would add ice the blender did not seem to have enough power to fully crush the ice as compared to my individual size blender.
Conveniently this model also include a food processor attachment. It is a much less sturdy container than the glass jar. I've used it once to process black beans and it sufficiently did the job.
