This unit was a replacement for my Toro Rake & VAC Electric Leaf Blower Model 51573. I never really used the vacuum feature of it. There is no comparison to this unit. It excels at blowing wet leaves out of gutters. I have only used it once, so I can not comment on durability.
Bought this blower for my cabin to blow off the pine needles in the driveway. I do this about 10 times a year and it takes about 20 minutes each time. The old Toro blower I have is 20 years old and beginning to fall apart but still runs fine. So I expected similar quality with the new one. Well it worked great for about a year (used appox 10 times). Then when I was blowing the needles from under my car, the blower managed to suck up a small pebble which immediately caused the entire impeller to disintegrate. And the worse part is, there is only one replacement part available, the tube. So now I get to grace my trash can with this worthless piece of junk.
Pros: light and powerful.
Cons: no replacement parts available., impeller disintegrates no replacement available.
This blower replaced an older model corded Toro. The slide switch on the older version shorted out, and I could not find a replacement switch anywhere online. This was really annoying, as the blower still had plenty of life left in it, except for this reason. I decided to give Toro another try, and available reviews of the F700 were encouraging. So far I have been quite pleased with the way it performs. It is clearly more powerful than the older version, and I like the rotary switch on this one a whole lot more than the slide switch on the older model. The blower has a nice weight and balance. I also like the fact that there was not vacuum bag attachments that would only collect dust with my arsenal of such attachments from blowers past.
