Does its job

I prefer the big gas-powered blowers. I am not a fan of dragging around an extension cord. But then again, I bought this for my wife, and she loves it. The weight is perfect for her and the power is more than enough for all she does. She even uses it to blow out our German Shepherd's undercoat when he sheds, which is continuously. As with every electric blower I have tried, the mulching leaf bagging aspect left much to be desired. But who buys a leaf blower to vacuum and mulch?
I would definitely recommend this product
Pros: power, price, performance
Cons: cord

My neighbors both have large maple trees which drop an incredible number of leaves each fall. The Ultra Blower Vac makes short work of cleaning up my yard.

TORO DOES IT AGAIN!!!
My two previous blower/vacs/mulchers were both Toros and I had to purchase this one because I wore both of the old ones out. They lasted a total of 12 years (6 years a piece).
I was gifted another blower/vac/mulcher made by another brand by suprise and was highly dissapointed because it couldn't stand up to my two previous Toros. I dealt with it and used it to help with the mounds of leaves this fall and it was more of a hassle than a help, not to mention it took FOREVER to bag up leaves!!!
Anyways, the power and performance of the Toro Ultra Blower Vac (51619) is EXCEPTIONAL!!! It is easy and dare I say, FUN to use!!! The quality is excellent! I ENJOY the cord lock system and the extension cord storage hook! The concentrrator and power inserts are FANTASTIC! I purchased the 2 year Full warranty, great deal!!!!
I haven't got to use the vac/mulching part yet, but I know I won't be dissapointed. :)
Pros: fun to use, power, quality, ease of use
Cons: nothing!!!

I had one of these previous to this and it was the best blower i had ever found that also picked up leaves. If you look at the cfm that it puts out its more powerful than any gas blower that I looked in to. Problem with the first one was the on/off switch. It broke and the blower was unusable. I liked the performance so much though, i purchased another! The new one seems to have had an upgrade to the switch. Still great at blowing and picking up leaves!
Pros: shreds and picks up leaves and is easy to convert
Cons: corded and on/off switch dependability

Great Now, Ask Again In A Year

This blower replaced a 20 year old off brand model that finally died. RIP it was a good unit.
This Toro is so much better I probably should have retired the old one long ago. It moves air and mulches very well. The variable speed dial is a nice feature as long as it holds up. Some consumers have reported problems with these switches. It feels a little heavy during use, perhaps the price to pay for having a metal impeller blade as opposed to plastic.
I dislike handing out rave reviews until a product has been truly tested. Ask me again in a year.
Pros: good air movement, variable speed
Cons: weight

Great features except for the bag attachment

The use of the vacuum feature is a bit difficult since the bag when getting full tends to slip off the shoulder and drag on thee ground causing holes in the bottom portion of the bag. We had a previous unit for about 7 years and had the same issues so my wife used some leather material and sewed it on the bottom of the bad to slow the process of deterioration. I expect that we will do the same thing on this newer unit since it is still an issue.
Pros: power of the blower
Cons: weight of the unit, bagging system, electric cord holder will not hold a rubber coated

This is my second purchase of this product. The first one still works but the speed control no longer; it cannot be shut off or adjusted. It would be nice if Toro made a replacement part.

I've used this a couple of times as both blower and leaf vac/shredder. I replaced the bag with the leaf collection kit (Toro 51502 Leaf Collection Blower Vac Kit) that attaches the hose to an apron that goes over a collection bin (trash can for me). The bag is useless if you're vacuuming a large amount of leaves. When using the Leaf Collection Kit, if you go over minimal suction, the hose blows out of the apron and/or the apron blows off the can or both. I tried varying the length of the hose within the can. No luck. I tried a cord around the apron, but it still blew off. Ended up using a competitor's apron which worked. As a leaf vac, it works very well on dry leaves, but all products do. It worked well with small sticks/twigs in the mix. It did not work well with damp or wet leaves. Gets clogged easily. The clogs are easily cleared, but it clogs way to often. At one point, the unit started making a strange noise. I took off the inlet cover and the impeller nut was gone.
Pros: clogs cleared easily
Cons: wat too many clogs, leaf collection kit doesn't work as advertised

Hello Mr. Griffin, We would recommend making sure the leaves are as dry as possible when trying to vacuum them. Regarding the warranty, we do stand behind our blowers for a full 2-years, 100%. Additional, as stated in the manual, hard materials such as sticks, rocks, acorns, and pine cones can damage the impeller, so should be avoided. With regards to the collection kit bag and hose, we recommend pulling the rope very tight and then pulling the black lock into place on the rope, this will provide a tighter hold than just holding the lock and sliding it back along the rope to tighten. For the hose, we also recommend having it at least 6 inches into the bag to provide the best hold. I hope this helps! Thank you.
