I purchased the Toro Ultra Blower Vac (51619) because of the great performance the previous Toro blower gave me and this newer model delivers better than expected.

Not ergonomically designed. Not for women. Blower good. Vac is poorly designed. Vac mode: cord is at front and tangles, bag very heavy to carry on shoulder and walk around, hard to maneuver with the poorly designed vac attachments (drag it), zipper location is wrong - collects all debris particles and dust. Zipper let go after 2 uses, putting attachments on/off lacks ease ability. A major redesign of the vac should be done. POOR.

Sorry to hear you are not happy with this machine. Our blower vac weighs in at 8.5 lbs, and the shoulder strap will help distribute the weight. We recommend not dragging the bag on the ground as you operate, in order to prolong the life of the bag. Either adjust the strap, otherwise we do offer the leaf collector as an accessory to the blower vac. This leaf collector eliminate the bag and will connect your blower to a utility bin. Purchased a second Toro 51619 leaf blower because I like the machine and I had purchased the Toro Gutter Cleaning Kit.
The reason I had to buy a second one was because the off/on switch went on the first one. The switch couldn’t be replaced. Toro isn’t being very environmentally friendly.
Would suggest the top of the handle be flat rather then rounded. The reason is there are times when you have to lay the blower on its back, and the blower wants to roll around.
I also have a couple of suggestions for the Toro Gutter Cleaning Kit. Trying hold on to the 2” pipe when the blower is on high can be a handful. I made a “D” handle and attach it to one of the pipe sections with a 2” clamp, the type of clamp used with drier pipe. I adjust the “D” handle to where it is comfortable.
Secondly the piece that goes into the gutter should be adjustable. Not up and down but side-to-side. If all you had to do was walk around the house on impeded it might be all right.

I could not rate dependability accurately because I have only had it for a few weeks and used it three times. Performance is good but compared to a gas model it isn't as strong. Very easy to use, easy to empty leaves (does not spill all over like some other makes), and is quite light and quiet as compared to a gas model. The leaves do mulch quite a bit, especially if the leaves are dry.
We don't have a large lot but enough to fill 2 bags mulched.
One point to make is the loop to hold the cord works well on a smaller cord but one would have difficulty using a 14 gauge extension cord if it were not very flexible. My cord set is 14 gauge and very flexible and had to work at getting it "looped."

The 51619 blower/vac is an excellent product. I have bought many other products. The set up and the time I used it was great. The other product could not keep up. A neighbor showed me his older model and was pleased with it. I had raked my yard and it was getting dark. Rushed to the nearest Toro dealer, bought it. 5 minutes and sucking up a lot of leaves. Thank you TORO! It has great features. Switching to blower to vac was pretty easy. The power of the vac/blower is pretty powerful.

Despite my dissatisfaction with 2 prior Toro blower/vacs, I purchased a third, for the weight and general overall quality. The control on each of the prior ones was not satisfactory and I can only hope this one is an improvement.
Pros: weight
Cons: the clip to switch from blow to vac is very stiff

I only buy Toro Blower/Vacs and have for the past 12 years

The over all machine is excellent. Only complaint I have is that the bag for the vac use just doesn't last and I have had to replace the bag zippers on all of them. I live where there is snow and at the beginning of winter when we only get a dusting of snow I use the blower to clear off the sidewalk.
Cons: the zippers on the bag don't last.
