The suction tube clog easily. It is gaudy and difficult to hold comfortably and maneuver. The only plus really is that it pulverizes the leaves into fine particles making it efficient to really fill your yard waste bags. Lesson learned, I am loyal to Toro being that I own a Toro mower and a Toro trimmer but now wish I had purchased a different leaf blower/vac.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate your feedback! Thanks for sharing. Your comments help us grow as a company. For best results we recommend using the blower/vac with dry leaves, only. If you have other concerns or would like more information on this subject, please call us at 888-384-9939. Thanks!
Replaced my old Toro yard vac/blower this year after several years of use. Dependable and reliable are "watchwords" I'd use to describe this piece of property maintenance equipment. The new model (purchased this year) is much quieter than the previous model and that's an added PLUS.
I gave it average rating on the ease of use because it could hang better, or the handle moved back a little to fit in your hand. It should also come with a nozzle that turns up so your blowing staight at the pile of leaves and not just down.
No more mixing gas and oil, gas fumes in the garage, and pulling the starter cord till your arm falls off. (I don't miss my old gas blower.) Yes, you do have to deal with an electrical cord around bushes, but make sure you fasten the cord so it don't unplug, and you can deal with it. The variable speed knob works great for controlling the air volume when blowing out the garage. There is plenty of air speed and volume for blowing the leaves and twigs from the flower beds and bushes around the house. If you have an acre to clean up that is a long way from an electrical outlet, then I would think about a gas machine, but for what I'm doing, this machine is perfect.
We were looking for a leaf blower when we found this Toro Ultra blower vac. It's great that you can blow the leaves into a group than vacuum them up and have them mulched into a carry bag. Being only 5'6" tall I'd like to have the ability to shorten or lengthen the vacuum nozzle to suit the height of the user. I find it difficult to use the vacuum feature without it sucking to the ground as I can't keep it up off the ground.
Its a good blower vac. Doesn't work well on wet leaves clogs up. The zipper ripped after the bag got wet and dirt in tracks. Needs to have a heavy duty zipper with coarse teeth. I hope Toro takes care of this or I will have to have new zipper sewn in.
I usually burn my leaves, but with the drought, there's a burn ban. This tool was great! It made good mulch for putting under my Leyland Cypress trees. We won't burn any more, this is faster, and less work. We bought a similar product at a low price tool store, and returned it the next day. For just a few dollars more, we bought this quality product. We've worked it hard, it will hold up.
