I bought this Toro blower to replace my old one which was at least 13 years old So far, So good. This one seems good and I will see in the future if TORO is as good as they used to be.
This is my third unit. First one the plastic clip broke so that the unit wouldn't turn on. The last one the switch went out going on and off while operating. When they work, I love it. Big maple leaves suck up with no problem. Just wish quality was a little better.
For the most part this is a good blower/vac. It's heavier then I would like which makes extended use tiring. The cord keeper doesn't work all that well. One side of the loop keeps pulling out so I ended up using a Velcro tie to keep the two sides together.
Then there's the plastic snaps used to keep the fan guard on and the other attachments. There are very hard to push in the release the components, at least for me. I only switch from one function to the other as little as possible.
The main feature I like about this unit is the metal fan, most other products have a plastic fan that disinagrates if you pick up a small rock or acorn. Also like the variable speed..Good Product.
i used the vacuum function to do Spring yard cleanup. Leaves in corners, etc, were vacuumed up and shredded. I spread the mulch around my plants. I’m a 70 year old woman and the blower was a little heavy, but manageable. I was able to assemble it with no problem.
This is my second Toro blower. My first one lasted over 20 years. It probably would have lasted a lifetime if I had not dropped it repeatedly.i expect this one to last just as long if not longer. I love the new feature in this model to have the ability to adjust the airflow from ridiculously strong to extra low. It helps eliminate mulch from blowing away while still eliminating debris. The included accessories gives me the ability to tackle any job I have. High highly recommend this blower.
