Safe and sound

With all of the door delivery thefts, car breaking and mischief, needed a security camera battery powered for outdoor use. Tried another brand from Amazon, was defective and returned. Bought this item. Easy set up. Hardest part was drilling into brick. Best to use a hammer drill. Read Ring help for useful tips. Works well. Happy.

The blue light can notbe turned off. And the camera doesn't detect any motion if looking out your windows from indoors.

My original review was a 5-star review because these were working great. However, now that I’ve had things to compare with, they are horrendous! One has not recorded since the day I bought it other than when I was right in front of the camera, yet I’ve come and gone many times and it never picked that up. Then my back one picks up who knows what every 5-15 minutes, but nothing is there. I have the doorbell below it and it doesn’t pick up obvious things that the doorbell picks up and the doorbell isn’t picking up whatever the heck it’s notifying me about, so it is a nightmare! I would NOT recommend the wireless ones! I will be trying the wires to see if those are any better...

Nothing but headaches trying to have the camera stay online. Don’t think internet. Have 300mbps 10 ft from camera. Works great then notice the mailman didn’t set off the notification.

From not a techie…. But generally speaking this item was quick and easy to set up on my phone and then to set it up on the peak of my house with enough coverage to take care of the door and the driveway. Also I like the feature of the gentle chimes to tell me that a person is outside and the two way speaker that I can tell them to get lost. The choice of alerts is a good feature also…. Eg a scream… dogs … siren…. Ghost etc!

Does the job

So far the battery has been good even through the winters. Only have to charge it every 5-6 months but I access the camera a lot to see my kids in the backyard. The alarm feature is neat and comes in handy. Camera quality is good and mounting it to brick was a breeze. They don't include the drill bit for this product but I had one from my doorbell and it easy drilled into my brick.

I have 2 of these and I’m just loving it! It looks down on my car nicely and also looks at my house in general. With all the theft in my area lately this is a must and so far it is making me so relieved! We will see how I like the camera after having it several more weeks. However, I’ve owned the doorbells for a year now and am loving those a lot (Ring Pro), therefore I believe I’ll love these for years to come, too. Would I recommend? Yes...already did and will many times over again.

Had it for 3 days and returned it. It seems like it stops working if it's in the sun for 1-2hrs.
When it's out of the sun, like overnight, or indoors, it works fine. It's supposed to be an outdoor camera so it should be able to handle the outdoor heat and the sun.
To get it working again, I had to take out the battery and put it back.
Would not recommend for outdoor use.
