It works as well as you'd expect it to, though unfortunately the base of the airfryer's basket has warped and now protrudes upwards in a rounded shape. This prevents the grill plate from sitting properly, creates the potential to scratch, and impedes airflow near the center of the basket.
Overall I was disappointed when I considered the price, and when I reported it to support, they sent me a spare grill plate for some reason. Confusing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using air fryers since before they were re-marketed as air fryers. Back then we just called them convection ovens. They were very simple machines. You had a heating element on top and a fan. And it came with a large glass pot on the bottom. I used one every day and it would break every few years and I would just buy a new one since they were cheap.
When they started to become more popular, I was flabbergasted that they would build them with a plastic housing and tray. Why would you cook your food inside a plastic box in high temperatures? I kept using the traditional glass pot convection ovens until it broke for the umpteenth time. Finally I decided it was time to modernize.
I looked at a lot of different reviews, but I wanted something that didn't encase your food in plastic or forever chemicals. I also wanted something that would have a large capacity. There were a lot of ones that said they were big, but they were measuring the vertical volume as well. They said having a tall basket lets you cook bigger things like a whole chicken. In my entire time using a convection oven, not once did I ever cook a whole chicken. If anything I would butterfly it flat to help it to cook faster and evenly.
The Dome 2 was the only one that gave a huge cooking surface and didn't seem like it had forever chemicals in it. I also liked the two heating elements which makes it cook a lot faster. Another added bonus was that is integrates with its own wireless thermometer that I got for free as a part of a bundle promotion. Cooking salmon and steak to the correct internal temperature was much better than setting a time and then praying it didn't get overcooked.
If I had one thought it's that I am very used to a see-through machine that I can visually determine the cook time. This one has no window, so you really have to trust the recipes or the thermometer. It did take some time for me to learn to use this new machine, but I am getting used to it and it been working very well so far.
