[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones are great sounding. The bass is phenomenal & totally unexpected. The mic kinda gets in the way since it's not flexible..but I can deal with it. It's comfy on my ears after hours of gaming & battery life is over 40 hours!

Great headset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This a really great mid range headset. I was skeptical about the mesh loop underneath the headset but it actually makes it much more comfortable to wear. The headset comes with a removable battery, which kind of surprised me. I suppose it’s a nice feature so you can swap out the battery when it starts to age instead of having to replace the whole headset. You have several options to connect, via dongle, Bluetooth or wired. The sound and voice quality is excellent. And it comes with a little mesh dust cover for taking it on the go. No complaints!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my new favorite headset, great for gaming but works great for online team meetings with co-workers. First impression was the packaging, very thoughtful and sustainable. Second was the quality build, replaceable battery and ear cushions guarantee you will have this headset for the long run. Pairing with my PC was a breeze, and the sound was classic JBL awesome. Blocks out noise around you so you can focus on the game play. This headset is so comfortable, you can wear it for hours, the ear cups are very soft and the lightweight support band is fantastic. I like the removable mic boom, but it would be better if it had some adjustability to it. Overall an amazing headset.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Quantium 650x made me realize I was only playing 1/2 the game when using other headphones. The 650x plays sounds I did not know where there and played them crystal clear. They block out noise well, look awesome, are super comfortable and were easy to setup with the app on my phone/computer. The controls take some getting used to but that makes sense for higher end headphones. Be mindful of the game vs chat control for your removable microphone. That caused me some headaches before I realized my mistake. The battery life is outstanding for longer gaming. I’d confidently recommend these headphones as a personal upgrade or a gift.

They’re comfortable, they sound great in the ways

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been through a lot of gaming headsets at this point, so I’m pretty clear on what actually matters. Comfort when you’re a few hours in, clear, communication, and sound that helps you play better, not just something that sounds cool for a few minutes.
The JBL Quantum 650X does a really solid job across the board.
Right out of the box, it’s clean and simple. Nothing over the top, nothing confusing. Everything is where you expected to be. Set up took maybe a minute. Plug in the USB dongle, turn the headset on, and you’re good. No messing around, which I always appreciate.
The first thing I noticed was how balanced it feels. It’s got some weight to it so it doesn’t feel cheap but it’s not heavy at all. The air cups are soft, the fit is comfortable, and the clamp is an aggressive. I’ve worn these for a long sessions and never had that moment where I needed to take them off and reset. That’s a big deal for me. Some headsets feel great for 20 minutes and then slowly become annoying. This one doesn’t.
The sound is where it actually matters. The sound is full, but more importantly, it’s useful. You can hear footsteps, movement, little details, and actually tell where they’re coming from. Not perfectly every time, but way more consistent than a lot of headsets I used. That’s the difference between just hearing the game and actually having awareness in the game. It’s also not overdone. The base isn’t trying to shake your head off and the highs aren’t piercing. It just feels balance and tune for gameplay.
Playing online was the real test. The mic is clear and consistent. You don’t sound muffle, you don’t sound robotic, and your voice cuts through even when things get loud. It also doesn’t pick up every little background noise, which I didn’t realize I cared about until I used headsets that did. Your team hears you plainly, which is really all you want.
The wireless connection has been solid, no lag that I’ve noticed and no random disconnects. The Bluetooth option is a nice touch. being able to connect to another device without thinking too much about it is one of those small things that ends up being useful. The battery life is great as well. I’m not constantly worrying about charging it.
There are a lot of headsets in this range that try to look cooler than they perform. Some go heavy on the features you’ll never use, others sound good at first, but don’t hold up an actual gameplay. This one feels more dialed in. It focuses on the stuff that actually matters and does it well.
All in all, if you play online and care about communication and awareness, this is a really solid option.

Quality portable sound, with replaceable parts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall there isn’t much to dislike about these headphones - if I had to nitpick the only thing that comes to mind is the what I will phrase as build quality for lack of a better descriptor.
I don’t mean they are built poorly, however the feel of the materials just doesn’t inspire confidence compared to other headphones I’ve used and own. I don’t say that meaning I feel they will not hold up, and they are designed to have almost all parts that will eventually wear out to be replaced which is a great positive as most headphones are not designed that way.
It’s hard to explain but the materials seem like they could be more robust, especially around the way the headset adjusts to your head with the headband.
Outside of that where it matters more on audio quality and connectivity options as usual JBL is tough to beat for cost to quality. I tried these on my PC over Bluetooth as well as the dongle connector and had no issue connecting with both methods - quality was similar on PC but with the dongle you can connect to the desktop application and customize settings and the equaliser versus Bluetooth.
I mostly play first person shooter games which sound is critical for and I had no issue discerning footsteps and locations of other players which is what you hope for if you are trying to be competitive online.
I only briefly listened to some music and was pleased with how it sounded, keeping in mind they are closed ear headphones. Ear cushion is great and did not make my head sweat like most leather / other cushions do.
The microphone works as you’d expect, and while it’s nice you can easily remove it or replace it, it would be nice if it was able to be swivelled out of the way rather than needing to be fully disconnected, and an indicator that it’s muted would have been nice also, but that’s just not how it was built so it isn’t a negative.
I also tested on Xbox and had no problems getting it connected - and the audio experience was just as pleasant on Xbox as it was with PC and I had no problem enjoying the games I played.
Overall I don’t think you can go wrong - the ability to swap and replace parts is very nice on headphones - if you use them a lot and have long gaming sessions at some point there are parts on headphones you are going to wish you could refresh and these check that box big time.
Battery life also has been what I would expect - many hours and still have plenty of life left without being forced to charge them constantly.
