Great Doorbell, Lots to Work On

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this doorbell device would work wonders for any home looking to enhance security. I didn’t necessarily like the fact that it had to be hooked up to an existing power wire as we have an older home where those items may or may not exist or work. Once up and running, all is well!

Tried it out!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried it out and it all seemed to be working fine! I live in an apartment right now so, no real need for it. Going to give to my parents next week to use at their house since they have actually had packages and items stolen from their property! I will report back with feedback once after Halloween :)

Simple to install, easy to use. Happy me!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m very satisfied with the Energizer Smart Connect Video doorbell, with just a few very minor quibbles, and I’ll break this review down from installation, usage, and the app.
First to make sure that the doorbell will function, you plug it into an outlet, download the app to your device, then pair the two together using your wifi. This was simple and I had no trouble connecting, nor staying connected. Fortunately my wifi router does sit very close to the front door, so perhaps this does account for how well they stay connected.
For the physical installation, it took me about 45 minutes, all told. It was quite simple, I removed the existing doorbell, connected the two wires – which was especially easy as it didn’t matter which post it connected to – and screwed the entire thing in place. This was a bit tricky for me, as I used the angled housing because my doorbell doesn’t share a wall with the door, but rather sits on an adjacent wall, and because the added height of the angled housing, I didn’t have much wire to work with. After a small struggle, I got the doorbell connected and attached.
I am very happy that the doorbell came with the angled base, again, because my doorbell is on a wall 90 degrees from the door, and this helps me get a fair angle on my guests.
I then installed the device that connects it to my existing chime. Because of the inconvenience of its location, this did take a bit more time (mine is in the space above my kitchen cabinets and the ceiling, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
At no time was I confused by the instructions, and I definitely recommend the product in that regard.
Next, functionality. The good: it stays powered, when the doorbell is pushed, the chime sounds, both on my physical chime, and on my phone - which will send a picture of who has done the ringing -, and the audio functions perfectly (I love the startled look it gives the people on my porch when I suddenly speak to them through the Energizer doorbell. The bad, which is really only a minor frustration, is the app itself. It often takes 3 or 4 tries for my phone to connect to the video feed of my doorbell, even when I’m at home on the same network. I would say 99% of the time it takes at least two tries, which I find annoying. I will say that it always eventually connects, usually on the second or third try, but the delay is often enough that the “ringer” has given up and moved out of sight.
That said, even with the minor connection issues, I definitely recommend the Energizer Doorbell, and look forward to using it for a very long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with my new smart video doorbell. Downloaded the app and got it all set up inside and then installed it outside. Works great and I get an alert on my phone if someone is at my front door. Feel so much more secure and I can even talk to the visitor through the video doorbell. The picture is clear and it even records both audio and video with a microSD card. Has three settings for sensitivity so I had to play around with that to get it just right.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this video doorbell. It took very little time to install and configure to my Iphone. My fiance loves it because she feels safer knowing who is at the door. I think she enjoys knowing that her packages have been delivered more (:

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have experiences with Ring and the software isn't as robust but the install is easy and the price is reasonable. It does require preexisting low voltage wiring from a doorbell and 2.4Ghz router or lower for it to work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with this video doorbell. It's added peace of mind and security without a giant price tag. It's also fairly easy to install which is nice. There was a little router wrangling as it kept trying to connect to the 5 ghz. Luckily another reviewer clued us in on that. After we got everything up and running and the app installed- it works like a charm. Well worth the small expense.

Not wireless!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited when I received this product!! It said it was a video smart doorbell with wireless chime! However, after downloading the app, creating an account and setting the device up in the app - then I learned that you have to wire it to an existing doorbell - which I do not have... :/ really disappointed because I really wanted to use this!! Energizer - is there really no way to use this without wiring it to an existing doorbell?? I couldn't find anything online about it..
I am sure it is probably an awesome product, especially for the price...just for someone who already has an existing doorbell.
