No lip for screen protection.

I got the GNAR case for my new iPhone 17 Pro but there's almost no lip for the screen. Putting a screen protector on it only makes it worse as it sticks out even more. And sure enough, less than a week later, the screen protector chipped in one corner. There really needs to be a version 2 of this case with better screen protection.
with this case. I have been using the Peak Design GNAR case with my iPhone 17 Pro for just under three weeks and I’ve already cracked two Zagg protective screens. There haven’t even been any significant drops. I’ve already ordered another company’s case that I have used with previous iPhone models and had great success. While the GNARR case looks very nice in my experience it does a terrible job of protecting the screen on drops.
This cover exceeded my expectations in both quality and design. The material feels exceptionally premium, offering a smooth yet durable finish that provides a secure grip without adding unnecessary bulk. It fits the iPhone 17 perfectly, aligning precisely with the buttons and camera cutouts. The color combination complements the orange iPhone beautifully, creating a sleek and stylish overall look. Overall, this is a well-crafted and thoughtfully designed cover that enhances both the appearance and protection of the device.
Not sure what happened here, but I know Peak will fix it. The Gnar surface is too slippery and it mars to easily for me. More than those issues, it doesn’t hold in a standard mag mount. Yikes. Had to return it for an Everyday which is great.
I own a lot of Peak Design gear and, because of that, have high expectations in their gear. This product didn't meet them. The case is bulky and heavy and the fit and finish is poor. The edge where the side meets the front of the case is rounded nicely on the front, but on the back its a sharp edge that is uncomfortable in the hand. The patch of softer rubber around the connector in the back seems like it's the wrong size. It's not as thick as the cutout so there's an edge or drop from case to patch. Then, the metal square in the middle is raised up. Again, not being flush across the three materials leaves an unpleasant feel in the hand. Most of my disappointment is in the lip on the top and bottom on the front screen. It's ramped shaped and seems to be designed to be flush with the screen at the end of the taper. However, with a screen cover it creates a sharp jump at the edge that end up swiping my thumb against constantly. The lip around the camera plateau is way over done. It's a solid mm taller than it needed to be to protect the lenses. The contrasting color inside the lip is somewhere between tan and orange while the case buttons are bright orange. Again, it just seems like it didn't all come together in the implementation. I still love the idea of this case, but the final design just didn't hit the target and I've ordered a case from another company.
The case is high-quality and works very well. And when integrated with the mounting system for a motorcycle handlebars, it’s one of the best cases I’ve used yet.
I think it's great, haven't had any of the issues in the other reviews. Fits great, no bulging or issues with the sides. The edge/lip is the same height as the Spigen screen protector I added. Works well with the ball mount I've been using for years. I do have an OhSnap spin thing on the back that sits flush with the camera section of the case. I've dropped my phone multiple times while working on cars and haven't had any issues, phone still works great and no cracks. I'd add pics but I don't have another device to take pictures with. I got the black case with orange accents. My phone is blue, so I got a Cordura skin from Apex Development to help protect that section and it looks way better with that darker multicam black skin
