More Trouble Than They Cost (And They Cost A Lot)

My cheap set of earbuds broke, after four years of heavy usage. I decided to splurge, to spoil myself, and purchased these -- after all, JBL makes great speakers, it makes sense they'd made great earbuds, too.
This is incorrect.
The case is small and slippery. I fumble to get it in and out of my pocket, and once I do, it slips so easily from my hands that I've dropped them several times. There's barely any physical indicator where to open them, so I have to be physically looking at the case in order to open it. The plastic is cheap, and the hinge mechanism that keeps them together is loose. The earbuds are slippery, too, again, I've dropped them. I have no problems with low dexterity.
Sometimes if I open the case, whip out an earbud, and close the case too fast, the earbud will remain in a purgatory of saying it's connected, but not playing any music, and not registering any controls like pushing once for start, twice for skip, etc.
The sound quality is good, but not good enough to justify the price and the ongoing struggle.
I ended up purchasing a second pair of earbuds, cheap, dupes of the old ones I had since the old ones had been discontinued. I found myself reaching for the cheap pair more often than the expensive pair. They're simply more trouble than they're worth. I will be returning these, disappointed and frustrated. I miss when companies cared about the products they sold, instead of caring all about the money. Also, using generative AI to prompt your users to leave good reviews is a bad business practice. Maybe JBL makes good speakers, but I certainly won't be purchasing them.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We appreciate your input and will make sure to pass it along to our team.
I was a bit disappointed in all honesty. I actually expected them to be better. I tried all tips and one of the earbuds kept on falling off. Multiple tests show me the batteries last about 5 hrs. of continued playtime. The noise cancellation works just ok. My less expensive Endurance Race 2 seem to do better in some of these fronts.
Good sound, good modes, does it's job. However these are the only pairs of earbuds I've owned that hurt after wearing them, the shell of my ear specifically, where the little rubber rest points(?) with R and L on them are. I'm sure using headphones for ours on end it's healthy? But I use them for work and I don't have this problem with much bluetooth earbuds like SkullCandy, or even this company's own headphones. getting the earbuds to sit properly in the case is also a little annoying, you gotta try a couple of times to get them actually connected and charging in the case, unless you want to open them up and have one side fully charged and the other almost dead.
Out of the box, been absolutely fantastic. bass is so powerful and so are the highs and mids (love the custom eq). But owning these for about a year and a half and ive seen some issues. when putting them on your ear, the left one works but the right one doesnt. like they do not sync with each other (occurs several times a week). If i want to fix that, i have to then forget them on my phone then out both buds back into the case, wait a few mins then repair them and put them in my ears then it works (sometimes). Im glad that that is the only issue i have but i do hope to see if an update would fix this!
Good buds. Nice build and sound quality, but awfully difficult to keep these secure in my ears. No matter what plastic cover I choose they simply keep falling out. Just purchased in March. Not sure how long I can endure the frustration 😟
I like these however don’t seem to get the loud sound I like. Maybe if I use the cable to and amplified system would get a strong sound. I live the JBL quality.
