I have a few headlamps and bought this one to replace one that has the red lamp (needed for night photography so your pupils don't change), but I think I purchased the wrong model because I want one with a separate button for the red like my other one (which broke, not a Coast product). Otherwise it's a great headlamp for the price. Not sure what the purpose is for the green light though...

Overall, I really like it. The run time seems good so far and I use it on and off daily under vehicles. The only negative is that it does not have the removable battery pack like its predecessor. That was more flexible as you could charge a backup batter and have it ready if it ran out during the day.

I really like this headlamp. Long life, many usable modes and i REALLY like the red beam mode. Most of my other headlamps have a red mode but it’s more of a “flood” type beam that doesn’t project. This one projects many feet and I found it to be much more usable.

Perfect Hands Free Nighttime Photography Tool

And suddenly, I had an epiphany! The last time I was doing some waxing gibbous moon photos, it occurred to me I shouldn't be fumbling around using a a pen light - I should add a headlamp for hands-free convenience. The Coast FL20R headlamp is the ideal addition to my photography kit. It give off just the right amount of illumination & more importantly it has a red light to aid w/night vision when a white light is not necessary. The rubber switch is tactile & intuitive to use. The "no-slip" headband has a quick release "pinch" buckle. And the headlamp swivels for directional positioning. And its dust resistant! Oh and it comes w/a rechargeable batt. Overall, I am very pleased to have added the Coast FL20R headlamp to my kit. As with the other Coast Products I have purchased, this is a winner! Thanks Coast!

The FL20 is a Great Headlamp for the money. It’s rechargeable and tilts. Extremely Bright on High! The lights went out in a medical rehab facility I’m in last week during a bad storm. I quickly grabbed my FL20 headlamp and helped the nurses make sure everything was ok. Everyone said, “Dang That Things Bright!”

I’m used to owning good products from Coast, so this light. I put on 25 tournaments a year. Every one of them run from 7PM until midnight. I fish them as well. I flip to brush and under docks most of the time. The new battery works like gang busters! I can recharge in my boat but I never need to. Keep a spare all the time. Also good that I don’t have to fumble with changing with 3 AAAs in the dark!
