Very frustrating!

Glad to read another reviewer here on the site that is also very frustrated with the 15-blinks that the lamp initiates EVERY time you turn it on or toggle between a bright to lower level brightness while in use, in an attempt to show battery life. This lamp has just sat in my pack for two years because it began doing this as soon as I had purchased it and I figured it was standard operating procedure; it wasn't until I read another review that this is an indicator of low battery. However, my light is still turning on and remaining on two years later!! Still progressing through the very annoying set of 15, yes folks, 15 blinks ranging about 1 second apart... my point being that this low-battery indicator is coming on way too soon... as i still have battery power 2 years later. Why couldn't it have been designed to strobe/blink 2-3 times to indicate low battery?? Disappointed in my purchase indeed.

The low battery alert is not good. Try working in a live electrical panel and the light starts to flash for low battery. Flashing lights are bad in the electrical field.

What a bunch of junk 52 min run time at the most using fresh RayOVAC batteries. Then blink blink blink. This on the low light setting.

Blinking light

I concur with the other reports of this blinking light, 15 times and often. I assume its a low battery warning but it is completely maddening and also dangerous. Trying to finish work and it goes off at all the wrong times. Also walking is difficult when its blinking. Very poor design.

First year it worked wonderfully. This year when got it our cabinet, it only blinks on either of the natural lights, red works ok. Hate to throw it out, but what do I use a blinking headlamp for?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Guess what RayOVac? I’m smart enough to recognize that a gradually fading headlamp needs fresh batteries. Your ridiculous blinking “warning” makes this otherwise excellent headlamp an awful piece of gear for a hunter. Let’s alert every critter in the woods with a strobe light! What were you thinking????
