We bought this for our son for Christmas. First use it worked awesome. Second time smoke was pouring out of the top and it completely stopped working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pops nice light popcorn

Pops as good as our cast iron pot with oil, but without any oil. Liked the caramel recipe, although I changed it to a sugar-free version. The popcorn popped very well, nice and light. Using my caramel recipe I did bake the popcorn as suggested with the caramel recipe included with the popper, and the topping tasted very good.
