I love fresh popcorn and this is a great counter top machine. It makes it really fast and a lot with one pop time.

shut down 3 minutes into first use

First time using, brand new out of the box -- After pouring a 1/2 cup of kernals into popcorn maker, it worked for about 3 minutes before shutting down and not turning back on. Waited for unit to cool down completely before trying to resume and it still will not turn on at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So my family & I we don't have a microwave... & We are trying to not buy anything processed. So when I saw this and saw it went on sale I was Soo excited & didn't hesitate to order! It's perfect it took like 3 mins and started popping & made more than enough for my kids and I to share!!
