BPA in Clear Top

The popcorn maker worked well until the top started melting with regular use. We always washed by hand and only had it on for popcorn popping. Beware, if you put butter in the top portion to melt it and use on the popcorn, you could be melting the cup which has BPA in it. When I reached out to the company they told me just not to melt butter in it anymore. Concerning when this is a food product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well, but I don't even know how to add flavor or salt to the popcorn, because it doesn't come with instructions.
