They work fine. Be sure the pointer is properly aligned with the weight you select or you could have a weight come loose and fall on your foot.

So I’m a first time adjustable dumbbell user, so out of box great look. Solid feel, little larger than I’m used to. Have been using hex dumbbells. Grip is awesome, feels good in my hands during lifts. Here’s my catch.. the base plates (plates not being used during workouts) can lean, and when a new user such as myself puts the set back into dock it can cause a traffic jam, enough weight creates a locked device. Was cool I got a heavier unintended workout separating it between sets but a pain none the less. Have since “figured” it out, and that’s my only drawback so far.
