Had potential but ultimately fell very, very short

I really wanted to like this product. I had my previous LG 32BL95U for 6 years and wanted an upgrade. I came back to LG after my good experience with the previous monitor. The 32U99A-S boats good connectivity options, has a good menu system with lots of options, and an exceptional 6k resolution. It has great color accuracy.
BUT, the resolution, the color accuracy, etc., are all completely negated by the horrendous coating LG chose to use on this display. The display looked grainy and things never seemed to look good no matter the lighting or adjustments I made with both the monitor's settings and the settings with both my Macbook Pro and my PC. After doing some research, this has been the case for many people. For me, the choice of coating turned this monitor into a complete dud. The brightness level is also unacceptable for a monitor like this, it is nowhere near bright enough. What is the point of having good color accuracy and clear text if you can't see anything because of how dark this monitor is? There also needs to be a glossy option if you want this monitor to really mesh well with Mac users and the whole experience. I really just feel like LG completely missed the market here for this display. This would have been a huge success had they executed better.
Some additional notes: The power brick is massive but the larger problem is the cord that goes from the power brick and plugs into the back of the monitor. The cord is too short. This is the only monitor I've ever used where I had to lay the power brick on my desk behind the monitor because the power cord wasn't long enough to reach the outlet on the floor from my desk.
People who look for premium products pay attention to the details; they don't want massive power bricks that can't be hidden, dull display coatings, low-brightness, bad speakers, etc. If you're going to charge a premium price you better make sure you have a premium product that aligns and people will consider to be worth it. That just wasn't the case here.

Mac users STAY AWAY!
on July 15, 2026
Posted by: FrankTheTank69
If you are a Mac user wanting a calibrated color workflow, STAY AWAY! Their LG Calibration Studio is useless on the Mac. It's written for Intel and requires Rosetta, which will go away with OS 27. Worse yet, when I first bought the monitor, I had difficulty calibrating the monitor with LG Calibration Studio. Now, it won't work at all.

Hello, Frank. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts regarding your LG 32U990A-S Monitor. We recognize your experience with color calibration software compatibility on your Mac system. To assist with calibration and display performance, ensure you are running the latest version of the calibration software directly from the LG support page, restart your Mac before launching the application, and verify that the monitor is connected using the primary USB-C cable included with the unit. We want to help ensure your desktop setup operates smoothly and reliably for your creative needs. Please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com if you need further support. ^James

Not as expected

In summary, this monitor's 6K resolution is nice, but it suffers from poor build quality. The back of the case is wavy/warped an indication of poor workmanship. The stand is not very stable and shakes quite easily AND is especially problematic when adjusting the monitor height. Again, the stand is just another shortcut taken on what could be a great monitor. As for the actual panel, it is not very bright. The matte finish makes this even worse as it not only doesn't stop glare, it's impossible to make out what's on the screen when you do have glare. On top of that, mine had a cluster of about 7-8 dead/deformed pixels near the center of the screen.

Perfect Matte Finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this monitor because I color grade and edit videos for work. This monitor has a fantastic looking finish and is the perfect size for my workspace. This 6K resolution is exactly what I’ve been looking for. And is everything I need to do color grading and video editing. It’s very hefty and has tons of connection points! Review submitted as part of a program that provides a purchase discount.

THE BEST
on January 19, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monitor is AMAZING! I'd give it 100/10 stars if I could. First of all, it was extremely easy to assemble took less than a couple of minutes. I just screwed the base together and then snapped on the monitor to the base. Second, it comes with every cord you will need and seamlessly connected to my Mac Mini with HDMI cord that was provided. It is large enough to have multiple programs open at once and the quality is insane! I do a lot of macro work and it didn't pixelate or dilute the quality of my videos to allow for easy editing an review. Review submitted as part of a program that provides a purchase discount.

Hello, Brittney! What an awesome review — your excitement is contagious! Sounds like this monitor slid right into your setup like it was meant to be there. Quick assembly, every cable you needed, and that seamless Mac Mini connection is exactly the smooth start we love hearing about. And the fact that it keeps your macro work crisp without any pixelation? That’s the OLED magic doing its thing. Thanks for sharing your experience and for being part of the review program. The new 2025 Mac Studio M4 Max and the MacBook m4 pro max cannot run more than 2 of these at a time via TB5. Take too much power.

32 Inch 6K Monitor
on December 10, 2025
Posted by: Kayla C
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded to the LG 32-inch 6K monitor, and it has noticeably improved my workspace. The design is sleek and modern, and while the bezels are slightly more visible than they appear in the online photos, the overall look is still very refined. Setup was simple with only a few main components, and the display quality is impressive right out of the box.
The extra screen space has made a big difference in how efficiently I can work, especially when using several programs at once. Connecting my devices through the high-speed port was smooth, and once everything was configured, the monitor performed without any issues. The built-in speakers aren’t the strongest, but that’s easy to overlook since most people use external audio anyway. Overall, it’s a beautiful, high-resolution display that adds both style and functionality to a workspace.
