I wanted an electric mower because I don't have the strength to lift the gas can, I also want something that was environmentally friendly. I chose Greenworks robomower after reading several reviews. I have been a bit disappointed because I keep getting error codes. We have had a lot of rain so the grass has grown fast and the ground is soft; my mower seems to get stuck a lot, even leaving ruts in the ground. I thought the wheels would be good on slight inclines but not so much. Now that it's had a few weeks to catch up, it's doing better and I hope 'Romow' will be as great as I think it should be. One more thing, every storm that knocks out power my cell phone says it's disconnected or ask if I need to create a new map.
Pros: Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello DLMcCormick. Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and are glad to hear that your Greenworks Robotic Lawn Mower is beginning to perform better as it settles into your lawn care routine. Periods of heavy rain and rapid grass growth can sometimes create more demanding mowing conditions, so it is encouraging to hear that your AiMowbot is making progress as your lawn conditions improve. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter error codes or connectivity concerns, especially after a power outage. We appreciate that you have been in contact with one of our technicians, and we are continuing to investigate the concerns you reported so we can work toward a resolution. Regarding the power outage, when power is interrupted, your reference antenna will temporarily lose power and will automatically turn back ON once power is restored. The message that appears when the reference antenna is powered off and back on is a safety measure. It is intended to remind users that if the reference antenna was physically relocated, the mower would need to be re-mapped. As for the mower being disconnected, please allow some time for the mower to reconnect to the cloud after power has been restored. On the HMI screen, the signal indicator will display a cloud symbol with a checkmark once the mower is successfully connected to the app. For additional setup guidance, maintenance tips, and troubleshooting information, please visit the Greenworks YouTube channel. If you continue to experience error codes, connectivity issues, or have questions about your mower's performance, please reconnect with our AiMowbot team through the Service Center in the AiMowbot SMART app, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. If you do not see our email, please contact our AiMowbot team through the Service Center in the AiMowbot SMART App. Thank you again for your feedback. Thank you for choosing Greenworks, and we hope your AiMowbot continues to provide the convenient lawn care experience you were looking for.
A bit hard to set up for the first time with the app. I wish there was some autonomy here. Also wish the app was able to share users, I am away a lot and rely on the family to fix stuff, but outside this the lawn is immaculate. Looks professionally cut with even stripes (it’s just the tracks). It’s got stuck twice so see what th deal is there if it’s the same place each time. Very quite and and due to this they need to release night time cutting. So far so good
Pros: The adjustable height is exactly what I was looking for. The noise level is impressively low. Obstacle detection works well and is reliable.
Cons: It doesn't handle slopes as well as I expected. The navigation could be improved. Occasionally, it gets stuck, and there's one specific zone where it never finishes cleaning and ends up looping indefinitely. The app is decent overall but could benefit from further refinements and usability improvements.
It works but here are the rest of the details. It’s not a complete mow your lawn solution. It’s a lot like having an austistic 8 year old helper. It works great in mowing straight lines in open grass areas but doesn’t handle any kind of hills over about 9% (without stopping, starting, turning, spinning its wheels and getting stuck) and it spends an incredible amount of time trying to mow smaller areas with less than 12 feet between edges and trees. You will still need to keep your regular lawn mower to get all the edges and areas that it misses but it does reduce the work load.
If you have mature trees, a house that is taller than one story or campers/ enclosed trailers along the edge or your property or on the driveway then the mowbot will often stall out as it cant see enough GPS satellites in the sky to figure out where it is. When this happens it will sometimes slip out of bounds and or get stuck so I just had to map many these areas as no go zones otherwise the mowbot will get stuck and spin its wheels for an hour or two before the battery runs out and it has to shut down- In these areas it is completely undependable as who wants to babysit and spend 7 hours watching it mow my medium sized 15,000 square feet of lawn (which normally takes about an 1-1.3 hours to mow with a push mower.
Its advertised as able to navigate a much steeper grade and it can if you are in manual mode, high speed setting and you take a straight run up the hill but in automatic mow mode it moves much slower, randomly stops on the hill and tries to turn or start up again and gets itself stuck time and time again. I ended up just mapping out all areas with slopes and mow them manually with the regular mower.
It has a great deal of difficulty navigating and mowing areas with complex curves, trees or flower gardens and will often leave an extra foot of taller grass when it’s done. It’s frustrating but at lease when I get home hours later it isnt dead and stuck somewhere.
It’s a great lawn mowing helper but it’s not the solution if you want to be gone for a couple weeks and want it to keep your lawn mowed. I have had it long enough to go through 3 software and firmware upgrades in which sometimes they take away features and usually keep trying to make the current features better. Would I buy it again?- probably not so I am hoping this review will be helpful to others. I would suggest waiting a few more years until there is a more reliable product or they allow you to add multiple RTK precision GPS antennas so it can better navigate and keep track where its at.
It was ok when I first bought it. For the price it was worth it. Since then, firmware updates have systematically stripped the mower of helpful features. Now it sucks.

This product should never have made it out of QA. It would have been better without the app. It insists it needs an update while indicating it's on the correct version. Required update V1.3.20. An error occurred while updating. Self-Check before update all checks out. Something went wrong (invalid data). The manual is badly written. The web site never heard of this model. Bad Bad Bad I will smell this with any future product I see. Never again.

Hello rlboston, We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating repeated setup and update issues can be, especially with a product intended to simplify lawn care. The AiMowbot series relies heavily on the AiMowbot SMART app for setup, firmware updates, RTK configuration, mapping, and operation. If updates are interrupted or fail during installation, it can sometimes lead to communication or startup issues within the system. We also understand how disappointing it can be when the setup experience does not meet expectations right out of the box. Your feedback regarding the app experience, update process, documentation, and overall usability has been shared with our team for review as we continue improving both the product and support experience. If additional assistance is needed with setup, updates, mapping, or connectivity, customers can reach the robotics support team directly through the AiMowbot SMART app or by contacting Greenworks Customer Support at 1-888-909-6757 or through Live Chat.
I have had the mower now for about two months and can say it is now working good. It took some adjusting and re-adjusting to boarders and obstacles such as, play equipment, trees, and water mains to keep it from getting stuck. The mowing performance is grate and so far I would say that the blades last about a season, just like any other lawn mower blade. I love that it cuts in different patterns each time it mow's, it keeps the grass looking good. Also, it is nice that it will go to the charging station to re-charge and continue to mow after it is done charging, no need to tell it to continue, it picks up where it left off. On the mower its self, it has a feature to mow all zones. I have used it ones and it did a good job. It took most of the day because it had to re-charge several times, but it got the job done. I did have to set the abject sensitivity to low otherwise it would go around taller grass, so, with it low I hade to create no go zones for objects that normally would be avoided like trees. It dose seem to lose its Bluetooth connection sometimes but it is ease to reconnect and everything works fine. I would recommend this mower to anyone who dose not want to mow there yard anymore. I would tell you to make sure the antenna is set up in a place that is free from trees, or roof lines. Keep it in the open. Also, If you have trees with roots on top of the ground, program the mower to go around them.
