Sadly, we are disappointed

We decided that our Christmas gift to each other would be an upgraded coffee maker. After much research and a couple visits to a specialty coffee supply store, we chose the Magnifica Start. We looked at more expensive machines, but we could not justify the cost. And we definitely knew that full manual was not for us. This seemed like a good compromise.
We have been trying hard to get used to it (reading tips, making adjustments, trying to improve the experience, trying different beans). Is it the machine? Is it us? Are we just drip coffee people? I'm happy with the milk drinks, but mainly my husband and I drink coffee and we just can't get a delicious cup of coffee from this machine. Perhaps we're doing something wrong. Anyway, we now have an expensive machine that we're trying to live with.
It is a nice looking machine, relatively compact, fairly intuitive. The milk frother is quite good.
We definitely wish the output was hotter!! We did adjust the heat per the instructions, but it's definitely not hot.
Anyway, we will keep trying to improve the output.

Love my DeLonghi!

I bought this machine a month ago to replace my second Nespresso machine. This has been the best upgrade ever! Not only am I saving money by not purchasing pods, but I also get to try local Puerto Rican coffee. Even with the coffee bean grinder, this machine is quieter than the nespresso vertió I had. Clean up is easier and coffee is so much better. I should have done the change years ago. I gave it four stars because I’ve only had it for a month and can’t say anything about durability but so will be sure to come back and update my review!

Makes great coffe with many other features

This machine has many features and makes great coffee. My draw to it was its ability to grind fresh beans. You can adjust the amount of coffee you can brew and the strength with each cup. Unfortunately the max volume is limited to about 8 ounces. Hence my 4 star rating.

I was absolutely blown away by this machine! I bought it as a gift for my husband (and me) and we are in love with all of the features. It's elegant design and ease of use make it a necessity if you are a coffee lover. It has many options to suit all of your caffeine needs and is so easy to use you don't need coffee to make your coffee. Just press a button and PRESTO you are good to go!

Very easy to set up. It is quieter than one I have purchased previously which is why I chose DeLonghi once again. It is easy to clean, heats the water quickly and in addition it uses much less water to purge after brewing. That’s a big plus
