This is a very good product. Like others it has a problem with hair clogging the clipper. It seems as though it would be possible to design a product that would keep hair from binding the clipper.

Like all beard trimmers, it has multiple settings, is chargeable, and does what all other upscale trimmers do. BUT, what sets this one apart from the myriad of other brands, is that all the hair trimmed is vacuumed up into a small area of the trimmer. It eliminates hair spreading on the floor and counter top. Plus, it’s easy to empty, and easy to take apart for a complete cleaning when needed. One full charge lasts a minimum of four or five full beard trimmings.
If you remove the beard length guide, you can also use the blades to to trim hair around the ears and those hairs will still be vacuumed into the same holder.
This is my second trimmer. The first one lasted me about six years before I dropped and broke it. I was very happy to find Phillips Norelco still made the trimmer.
I can honestly recommend this Vacuum Trimmer with Turbo Boost to all men with a beard.
Pros: easy to use, hair is vacuumed into the trimmer, easy to clean, blades are self-sharpening, turbo-boost adds speed for heavy beards

With the contour following guide, the trim is consistent and smooth. The pop-out shaver is poor. The trimmer itself could use a little more power, even with turbo, though it is relatively quiet. The vacuum catches most of the mess, though not all. In sum, less powerful than Wahl, but the contour following guide is excellent, and the convenience and ease of use of this device is far superior.

Great trimmer. I wish the comb teeth were not so sharp.

This is a great trimmer. The vacuum feature is a real plus for keeping the bathroom sink clipping free. The only thing I do not care for are the teeth on the comb. They are rather sharp and sometime poke my face, especially around the chin line.
Pros: very adjustable with vacuum feature.
Cons: comb teeth too sharp

Beautiful product albeit slightly wierd angle of blades

The trimmer is great in that its basically the only one with a vacuum being made next to norelco s other vaccuum trimmer. It's hard to clean the blades off though with the vacuum suction piece so close to the blades. The blue lighted numbers look real cool to let you know what number you have it set to and how much power or charge is left. The door for the hair catcher feels a little flimsy but I'm not complaining just be careful when you empty the hair out cause it'll go swinging back and forth and you don't want it to break off. The cutting blades seem to be angled differently than I'm used to but it does give a great cut nonetheless I just have to hold it at a different angle, it could be because of that vacuum suction piece so close to the blade so you have to turn the blades a certain way to get them to touch your face . It's a great product though and I'm glad they still make this vacuum trimmer . Keep up the good work Philips norelco!

I bought my first one in 06' and never had a problem with it. The battery finally gave out after almost 6 years. I would say that by far exceeded thr life expectancy. I never even questioned which new I should by just where can I find it.
I am very pleased with my new one. Great design, love the LCD screen and it works the way it is supposed to.
