Troublesome

As others have experienced, read out is problematic. Could not read all the numbers. I changed the battery but that did not help. I can not read the full number in Fahrenheit whereby some of the 2nd digit is missing. Yet, when I change the readout to Celsius, the missing part of the digit in F now shows.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Reads 185 and the chicken is still pink. Such a disappointment. Money out the window.

Broke after just a few uses.

I'm not sure when I bought it, but it's definitely been less than a year. I use it occasionally and it stopped working. I bought a pack of new batteries and apparently the thing just stopped working. I see alot of reviews stating the same thing. Y'all need to pull this off the shelves until you figure out what is wrong with it and fix the problem.

Solid Budget model

I have had 3 of these due to losing them. That's why I don't want an expensive one. These things are quick, accurate and tough. I have left them out overnight many times and even in the rain once and it still worked. Solid choice.

Can’t open the battery compartment!

Worked fairly well until it seemed the battery got low. We have tried to open to replace the battery with no avail. Frustrating!
