One of my favorite features is that squirrels can’t chew through the metal. The solar panel keeps the camera charged without me having to worry about plugging it in, which is a huge plus. The picture quality is excellent—clear and detailed enough to identify every bird that visits. The AI bird recognition is nice to have for new birds. It’s also surprisingly easy to take apart and clean, making refilling and maintenance quick and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a high-quality product that’s both functional and fun to use. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching backyard birds

The camera has a crisp picture with excellent sound quality. It does not tell the name of the bird like my last feeder, but I have an ap that does that. The feeder does not waste food, as the small holes prevent the birds from swiping the food and tossing it to the ground. I do like this new design and it seems very sturdy.

Solid Bird Feeder for the Tech Savy Bird Watcher

We have had several bird feeders over the years and this is our favorite. The key areas that stand out are below:
1. The bird recognition software is impressive. Keeping a history of the visiting bird types and male/female keeps it interesting. The vivid pictures and video showing how the birds interact and sometimes fight with one another makes for great entertainment. - I recommend the lifetime AI subscription as this is a key point of the product.
2. Metal Build with roof overhang - The metal house is much stronger than the previous wood and plastic houses we have had in the past. In addition, we have noticed rain does not enter the feed holes as much on this unit as the roof has a slight overhang creating a porch. (This lowers the time involved with cleaning and prevents wasted bird seed due to rain.)
3. Easy Installation - We were up and running in about 5 minutes. We reused an existing pole to mount it, so that saved time. The app and connection to wifi was very smooth. We use a eero mesh network which sometimes has issues with connections, but this was flawless.
4. Built in solar panel - This feature gives the house a very clean look and saves time having to recharge indoors. We have used the add-on solar panels in the past, but this looks much better.
5. Adjustable perch bar to accommodate the size of bird you are attempting to attract. I didn’t know this was a thing until playing around with it. We have large doves that monopolize the feeder. By adjusting the perch inward, ot makes it a bit uncomfortable for them and they have not been frequenting to feeder as much.
Overall we are very happy with the unit and recommend it for anyone seeking a self identification feeder. This is one of the best on the market. The only thing missing is a way for it to refill the bird seed itself (ha).

The quality and design is incredible! It’s very sturdy and extremely well-made! The birds started to visit it very quickly, and it was extremely easy to set up! The quality of the images and videos are outstanding. Crystal clear sharp images and it’s almost like having a front seat in my backyard watching these beauties! The bird alerts are always 100% accurate! I highly recommend this bird feeder!

Built Like a Tank — Squirrels and Raccoons Can't B

I've had the Birdfy Metal 4K for a while now and it's been outstanding. Setup was incredibly easy — the Bluetooth pairing and app walkthrough had me connected in minutes, and mounting it outside was just as simple with the included hardware and multiple mounting options.
What really sets this feeder apart is the durability. The all-metal construction is no joke. I've had squirrels and raccoons climbing all over this thing and it hasn't budged or shown any wear. It's truly chew-proof and built to last through whatever wildlife (and weather) throws at it.
The 4K camera quality is excellent, and the AI bird identification is a fun bonus — it's surprisingly accurate and my family loves checking to see what new species have visited. The dual-band Wi-Fi keeps the stream smooth without dropouts.

This is truly the best bird feeder camera Birdfy has ever made. Although there have been several improved versions of feeders in the past — and Birdfy continues to impress with every release — this one is in a league above anything before it.
The build quality is exceptional. The metal construction feels premium, solid, and ready for all weather. The new pole‑mounting system is fantastic: stable, clean, and easy to set up, giving the whole feeder a professional outdoor look.
The 4K camera is incredibly crisp, delivering sharp detail and vibrant color throughout the day. One of the smartest upgrades is the external antenna, which sits neatly outside the housing and delivers a noticeably stronger, more reliable Wi‑Fi connection.
The integrated solar panel is another standout improvement. It blends seamlessly into the design and keeps the camera powered effortlessly without extra cables or attachments.
