This lens is fantastic and I am glad that I decided to get the f2.8 vs f4.0. I love the focus ring. It is so smooth and light and I can control it with a finger. The images are sharp. The lens is a little heavy, but I think it is worth weight ;-)

Fantastic lens and very sharp. I see one person said it gave him a lot of grain. I’ve never heard of a lens causing grain. He must have a magical lens or don’t know how to use his editing app. All I can say is I’ve always dreamed of a lens with those specs and Canon was the answer I love it.very sharp and very good bokeh.

Amazing lens! First event I shot, the client noticed the difference between captures from previous shoots right away when I sent them the link to the gallery. "I don't know what it is, but these shots look GREAT!"

Perfect for events and portraits

Since I bought this lens it's pretty much everything I use for most of the time. I do primarily events and with this lens I pretty much never need of another body or another lens. Quality of the image is very good. Of course the cons are the size and the weight but you get used to it. I also use it for portrait, fashion and products.
