The quality of the prints from the imagePROGRAF pro-1100 are unbeatable. The color and sharpness are great. The printer and inks are a little on the expensive side but well worth it if it is in your budget. The replaceable MC-20 maintenance cartridge is a great feature. I was forced to replace my old Pro-100 because of the design flaw with the sponge not being serviceable. This is a great printer with excellent quality prints

Systemically Faulty Product

I am so disappointed in this printer. I'm thoroughly convinced that anyone posting a positive review is 1. Lying, 2. Doesn't know what a quality print looks like, or 3. Won the lottery and received a printer that actually works.
If you print with ONLY Canon papers, your prints may look decent. However, I prefer to print on Red River and Canson papers. I have yet to get a decent print, and I'm on my second Pro-1100. The first was purchased March 2026, and replaced under warranty because of horizontal banding on all images printed on Red River papers. I spent hours on the phone with Canon service, wasting $$$ pages and pages of fine art paper to do tests, and in the end, they determined the unit was faulty. I received a second printer. This second printer is exactly the same. I'm doing everything right, following all the recommendations from Canon and Red River. I have since found on several online forums that this is absolutely a systemic problem and Canon is not taking responsibility.
This printer was supposed to be an upgrade from my dead Pro-300, and I can't believe how much I miss my 300. The prints were beautiful every time. I hate this printer, and I'm stuck with either replacing it with a third junk printer or dealing with sub-par prints. If I had a high-end gallery exhibition, I could not produce worthy prints with this expensive waste of space. I regret this purchase and wish I bought an Epson.

Dead and no service

The printer is great but Canon's service sucks. 16 months old, so out of warranty. It's completely dead and won't power on. Tech support was worthless and said that Canon doesn't repair this model. All they can do is sell me a new one for a 25% discount. I'm so glad I am a Nikon photographer and don't shoot Canon's crappy products.

Buyers Remorse

Had I saved the box it would have been a return. It is overpriced, complicated, bulky, and software is close to junk. Calibrated monitor; colors still seem off. It doesn't like printing matte/art papers. Paper gets scuffed with lines top to bottom over the image and ink. I’ve been doing my own prints for a long time and this takes the fun out. Glossy prints look laminated with CO cartridge; not nice. The printer and inks are way over priced! The 8720 that Ive had for 6 yrs has not had these issues and was A LOT le$$; everything about the pro1100 printer has been a let down. Definitely would not recommend or give to someone for a headache. I can't seem to capture the scuffs on photo but would rather send the prints.

I'm delighted with my Prograf Pro 1100. I had used a Pro 1000 for years and was very pleased with it. I expected the Pro 1100 to be similar, but it's significantly better. In particular, the blacks and shadows are noticeably deeper and richer. And, of course, the inks are far more durable, which matters to me because I list my prints as archival.

Canon Pro-1100 printer

Haven’t had the opportunity to use the printer much, but easy setup from start to finish. The reason for the 4 stars is the printer is very loud, way much louder than my Pixma PRO 9000 and the cost of replacement ink cartridges (I bought a set of spares before the prices go up).

Buy it or a wider version!

Been putting this baby through its paces and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. I just printed a 17”x 6’ wide print and it looks amazing. I have tried about seven paper finishes and they all look gorgeous. Love it!!
