I've had two of these break in under 9 months with minimal use. The first one stopped charging and the manufacturer replaced it. The plastic ring that holds the two pieces together on the second one cracked in half and the manufacturer refused to fix or replace it because they already had once, even though it was still well under a year from when I bought the original. It's a bad product and not worth the hassle, especially since Tzumi's position is that if their product is faulty more than once, it's not their problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
