Received and set this up yesterday. It is an improvement of just the TV speakers; however it does not provide much volume. Placement of all connection inputs are all at one end--unfortunately the wrong end in relation to my TV. I had to re-arrange my components to make it work. Perhaps they could be located nearer the center of the unit. The optical cable is short--mine is stretched to its limit in order to reach. The indicator lights on the front are distracting, especially when watching a movie, and the power light stays on even when the unit is turned off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
