These are far better than the store brand plates at our local supermarket. We use them in the microwave for both [re]heating and spatter protection and also use them for snacks and small meals to cut down on dish washing. Our market used to have similar plates but switched to a different one under their store brand which is coated enough to stick together and tear but not coated enough to be wet or grease proof. We prefer these un-coated plates.

Yes they are kind of thin and not coated but definitely serve the purpose when needing a disposable lighter weight inexpensive plate. Will buy again after this 1000 plate supply runs out which will take awhile in my household:)
