Keep the tape handy!

The flap is rather narrow and if you fill the envelope with bulky material it doesn't seal well enough. You will need to tape it. The flap should be wider1

As a book blogger I often mail signed paperbacks out as giveaways. These padded mailers are perfectly sized and sturdy for this purpose. I've never had anyone comment that their book arrived damaged when using them.
