These shredder bags were only 0.5 ml and were a tight fit in the shredder. The previous shredder bags purchased at Staples were 1.0 ml and fit the shredder better (brand was Brighton Professional).

This is my third shredder. (I do a lot of shredding and I'm an old dude! ;-) The one I had before this one was also a Staples shredder and it too was excellent although nowhere near as good as this one. It would still be alive today were it not for all the things I had shredded with it that had adhesive on the paper. (My advice get rid of adhesive paper [envelopes Postits gummed labels son other way].) What makes this shredder so great?: * Bag management system for shreds that reduces cleanup time to zero. * Microshredding that renders documents unrecoverable. Important since I recycle! It also allows for more shreds in the space allotted. Another time and bag cost saver. * Feed system that prevents the shredder from jamming but allows a sizeable wad of flat paper to go through well. The people that have complained about the speed or the feed mechanism really don't understand how almost all non-industrial shredders work. This is a great buy!!
I've had this shredder for 8 years. I don't know why I didn't buy the bags back then. I've always used something else on hand though. 13 gallon kitchen bags are what I've used most recently and for the longest time. But nothing works like the part designed for purpose and these sit in the perfect location - at the bottom of the bin so the next one is right there on hand when it's needed.
